Children and Parenting

The area of children and parenting aims to promote children’s wellbeing and parenting support.

We have obtained research grants from the Ministry of Health, National Medical Research Council, National University of Singapore as well as Business Finland to support studies in areas of care for young children and adolescents with various health conditions, such as children undergoing surgery, children with special needs, obesity, diabetes, as well as support to their parents. Through the assessment of current services provided, innovative and integrated technology-based programmes are developed for children and their parents to improve their health outcomes as well as parents’ parenting and caregiving skills. Some interventions include educational interventions for parents of children undergoing surgeries and therapeutic play interventions for children undergoing surgeries.
