Saving Women’s Lives Gala: Transforming Health, Nurturing Wellbeing

The Saving Women’s Lives Gala, a prestigious black-tie, social networking event organised by the NUS Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health and Institut Santé des Femmes, Université Paris Cité, with the support of the French Embassy in Singapore, the Festival Voila! 2024 and the French Chamber of Commerce was held on the evening of 11 May 2024 at the Shangri-La Singapore. More than 350 guests came together to do their part for women’s health and well-being.

Themed “Transforming Health, Maximising Potentials, Nurturing Wellbeing”, the gala aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of preventive measures and primordial risk factors in women’s health without putting the emphasis on the negative aspects non-communicable diseases. The goal is to encourage women to proactively manage their well-being.

This soirée featured appearances from outstanding female artists, leaders and rising stars of various industries, such as entertainment, sports and fashion, from France, Singapore, and the United States, including Ms Nour Ayadi, a 25-year-old Moroccan pianist who is a rising star in the word of classical music and Ms Fiona Feng-I Roan, the first female director and writer to win the Golden Horse Awards Best New Director, Ms Farhanna Farid, a two-time Asian and a four-time national powerlifter, and Ms Katherine Ng who has made her mark in blockchain strategy, and was named as one of the rising stars in SG100 Women in Tech.

With a diversely multi-talented group of women coming together under one roof, the Saving Women’s Lives Gala is a celebration of the achievements that women have made in their respective fields, and which continue to shape a spectrum of multi-disciplinary narratives, where women’s health and well-being are placed at the forefront of national priorities.

To wrap up a night of merry-making, 10 winners of the raffle draw walked away with attractive prizes such as a tantalizing omakase dinner at Sushi Ryujiro, a rejuvenating skincare experience at Chanel Prive Ion and a masterpiece by Prune Nourr, amongst others.

All proceeds will go towards supporting research and education for women’s health.
