NUS Medicine alumnus Dr Sin Yong (Class of 2012) organised a magic show called ‘Magic of Kindness’ to raise awareness on kindness among the community. With a $5,000 grant from HDB Friendly Faces, Lively Places Fund, Dr Sin put on a performance for 200 Ghim Moh residents in April and printed 400 copies of catalogues highlighting acts of kindness for the residents.

“Even simple things like holding a lift, a door, offering to share a table at a hawker centre… a simple good morning, will bring a smile to anyone’s face,” said Dr Sin. “If every Singaporean can just take 15 minutes every day to help anyone in need, that would be sufficient as a starting point. It would spark a revolution in our lives.”

Dr Sin has performed at many fundraising and charity events. To read more about ‘Magic of Kindness’, check out the website.
