NUS Medicine has embarked on a 10-year study on 600 elderly residents in Jurong to prevent and alleviate symptoms of depression and dementia, an uprising problem due to the ageing population in Asia. A $1.8 million donation from the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho temple will be used for the study.
