A NUS Medicine initiative, the Medical Education Technology Enterprise (METE) serves as a platform to promote and support innovative educational technology development for curriculum, scholarly publications and commercialisation to drive innovation in technology for teaching and learning in medical education.

Thus, METE committee was formed to achieve the objectives for technology enhanced medical education to infuse new media and technological tools to stimulate the Internet generation and to equip our students with relevant skills to cope with the ever-changing technological advances in their medical career.

Online Learning Resource

Procedural Skills Logbook

A built-in dashboard used in training for students to count towards completion criteria for selected posting in procedural skills training.

Universal Clinical Reasoning (UCR)

An online-cloud based and case-based platform to train critical reasoning for future doctors.

Virtual Integrated Patient (VIP)

To develop clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills to allow true conversation engagement with the virtual patient via a chatbot.

HEALING 2.0

An iOS-based application aimed to create awareness of healthcare costs.

An interactive iPAD game to teach safe prescription to medical and nursing students.

Virtual Reality

PASS-IT (Patient Safety As
Inter-Professional Training) 2.0

PASS-IT employs VR technology to conduct patient safety teaching at NUSMed by allowing students to immerse into the operating theatre scenario.

RESCUE (Response in Emergency Safety and Civil Structure Evaluation)

Using VR and MR, RESCUE immerses learners in a high-fidelity simulation of the actual environment.

Virtual Delivery Suite

A series of VR applications to simulate actual delivery to provide realistic training in comparison to the manikin simulation.

CREATIVE

Create Real-life Experience And Teamwork In Virtual Environment implemented in Phase IV curriculum.

Using VR to provide an immersive experience of managing agitation in clinical settings via a blended learning approach.

Project Polaris

Co-developed by Microsoft, Polaris incorporates MR and focuses on enhancing how procedural skills are taught to students.

A virtual patient simulation and communication application to train and develop clinical soft skills.

To enhance clerkship learning experience by developing clinical anatomy and pathology training modules with VSI HoloMedicine^®.

How to Apply

The project team must meet the following criteria:

	At least one NUS or NUHS staff as the project owner		Funding application should be for the purpose of solution development work		Funding is not applicable for the employment of manpower
