- Final Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) [MMed (IM)] fees are inclusive of the prevailing GST rate and subject to changes without prior notice.
- *Application fee is non-refundable and must be paid at the time of application.
- Successful applicants will be notified via email to accept placement. Placement will be confirmed only after successful payment transaction.
- ^Applicants who had passed the conjoint Primary MMed (IM) Written Exam and / or conjoint Final MMed (IM) Written Exam will enjoy a lower fee if a copy of the result letter(s) or receipt(s) is / are attached during their online application to NUS. Please refer to the table below for more details of the payable Final MMed (IM) / PACES Examination fee:

Eligibility Criteria
The following requirements must be met:
- Admission is restricted to applicants from Singapore / Malaysia / Brunei / Nepal / Myanmar / Australia / New Zealand or have graduated in Medicine in one of these countries.
- Applicants must have passed the MRCP (UK) Part 1 Written Examination.
- Applicants must have a total of two years' experience, including at least four months in medical specialties or medical subspecialties, following the award of their primary medical degree.
Subject to satisfying the eligibility criteria, applicants may choose to apply to 1 of the following exam options:
- Exam Option A: Final MMed (IM) / MRCP (UK) PACES Exam (also known as “Joint Exam”)
- Exam Option B: Final MMed (IM) Exam only
All Residents in Singapore who are interested in taking the local exam are mandated to take the Joint Exam and must apply for BOTH MMed (IM) and MRCP(UK) PACES.
Maximum Number of Candidates
Each diet of exam is capped at 60 exam placements. Priority will be given to Joint Exam applicants who are:
- in the Internal Medicine Residency Programme in Singapore
- residing and working in Singapore
Receipt of the application does not guarantee an admission to the exam.
Application
Separate online applications are required for the respective exam(s):
- Final MMed (IM) Exam: Online application via Graduate Admission System (GDA3). A step-by-step guide to applying online can be found here.
- MRCP (UK) PACES Exam: Online application via https://www.mrcpuk.org/mrcpuk-examinations/paces. Applicants will need to log into their personal MRCP account to submit an online application.
All applications must be submitted online to NUS and/or MRCP (UK) by the stipulated closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained. Hardcopy and email applications will not be accepted. The following documents must be attached in the online submission to NUS by the closing date:
- Additional Information Form (to be submitted online via Qualtrics)
- 1 passport‐sized photograph (submitted only upon acceptance of offer)
- Certified true copy of following documents (Official English translations will be required for stamps or certificates sent that are not in English):
- Primary MMed (IM) Written Exam and / or Final MMed (IM) Written Exam results letter(s) (if applicable)
- MRCP Part 1 Written Exam result letter
- NRIC: for locals / Permanent Residents
- Employment Pass and Passport: for foreigners (residing in Singapore)
- Passport: for foreigners (residing outside Singapore)
Photocopies of certificates and/or official translations (in English)* including any other official supporting documents will be accepted only if they have been prepared and/or authenticated by one of the following:
- Medical Council of which you are registered and licensed to practice;
- Ministry of Health, Singapore;
- a notary public or Justice of the Peace;
- Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS) - For authentication by DGMS office, original certificates and documents must be produced.
Applicants who fail to present their original documents for verification without acceptable reasons will not be admitted to the examination.
*Applicants must submit an authenticated translation if their official supporting documents are not in English. A fresh ink stamp must be used to authenticate the copy or translation of the primary medical qualification.
Applicants whose original documents have been damaged or misplaced must apply to the relevant organizations / authorities for replacements or letters of verification.
An applicant is only allowed to enrol concurrently in another programme offered by NUS or another University only if granted approval from the Vice Dean of Faculty and the Head of Department. The Degree Programme refers to any programme (including examination-only programmes) which leads to NUS Degree conferment. DGMS is not obliged to provide reasons for unsuccessful applications. Other respective rules/regulations of DGMS apply.
Withdrawal Policy
For withdrawals, the respective NUS and RCP withdrawal guidelines would apply.
MMed (IM) Exam
Exam candidates must contact the respective Officer-in-Charge (OIC) as soon as they know that they are unable to attend the exam enrolled. Request to withdraw from exam must be made in writing. Emails are acceptable.
Candidates who notify the Division that they are unable to attend the exam on or after the exam dates must request for a refund within 14 calendar days from the last day of the exam and provide the supporting evidence where appropriate. The Division will generally consider providing refunds to candidates based on the following circumstances:
- Illness - Refund request must be accompanied by a medical certificate.
- Pregnancy – Refund request must be accompanied by a medical report.
- Involvement in an accident e.g victim of crime, accident or disaster – Refund request must be supported by evidence such as medical report and/or police report.
- Bereavement in the immediate family – This normally refers to the loss of parent, grandparent, sibling, spouse or child and must be supported by relevant documents such as a death certificate, proof of the relationship, etc.
Supporting evidence must be presented in all cases.
All refund granted will be subject to 10% administrative charges capped at $500.
Requests for refund under the following reasons will not be entertained:
- Lack of preparedness or readiness for the exam for which the candidate has enrolled.
- Failure to arrange time away from work.
- Inability to secure a visa or other travel documents required to attend the exam.
