The BLS Course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Participants who successfully complete the BLS Course will receive an American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card valid for two years.

The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses and paramedics. To qualify for the PALS Course, all participants are required to attend the BLS. Participants who successfully complete the PALS Course will receive a PALS Provider course Completion Card, valid for two years.
