Programme Highlights

The cell-based therapeutics (CBT) potential has been reported more frequently in the media over the last decade and interest has intensified as more research and innovations are stepping up to deliver cell therapy to patients to treat different diseases, particularly cancer, with much reported positive results. In PR Newswire report for Market Insider in November 2019, it stated that “The global cellular therapy market is growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24% during the forecast period of 2018-2024.” Cell therapy in Asia is also picking up with companies in Korea, Japan and China racing to develop CBT and getting ahead to gain a slice of the market early. With the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s recent approval for Bristol Myers Squibb’s Breyanzi and Novartis’s production at various countries for the manufacturing of Kymriah, Singapore needs to step up in preparation of manpower to take on roles that will lead to more involvement in cell therapy work. This course serves to provide a strong foundation for learners to develop their competencies in the area of cell therapy.
