This 4-day course focuses on helping individuals who are facing major work life transitions to stay relevant in a rapidly changing world. The course applies design thinking principles to managing work life transitions at major transition points such as:

  • From student life to a work environment
  • For mid-career PMETs looking to stay relevant at work or looking to switch careers/industries
  • For those retiring in near future or recently retired (voluntarily or involuntarily)

Course Objectives

Through this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the evolving trends & issues in future of jobs/future of work globally & in Asia/Singapore
  • Learn about the new world order, geopolitical changes & impact of these & technology/automation on jobs
  • Learn about a toolkit that applies design thinking principles to life at various work life transition points & uses prototyping
  • Learn about dysfunctional beliefs at work & ‘reframing’ technique to learn how to consider circumstances from other angles, problem solve, & manage the personal & professional lives
  • Learn to lead self for a 100-year life in the era on human longevity
  • Learn how to connect the dots by factoring in the evolving trends in jobs, work, & remote work; what motivates & drains you; & what is needed for your own personal effectiveness. With this understanding, build your personalized Alt-Lyf/Odyssey Plans for the future to explore various possible versions of your lives & see which ones you want to prototype/live into
  • Learn how to use this knowledge to influence your career choices/start-up business ideas
  • Understand the importance of networking & create a Collaborative Community to test out the plans & derive actionable insights for making your plan of choice a reality
  • Learn about the practice of optimism & happiness

Pre-Requisites and Assessment

Minimally diploma holders.

Assessment component includes project work. Learners must record at least 75% attendance and pass all assessment components to successfully complete the course and receive a Certificate of Participation.
