Programme Highlights

Equip yourself with the Knowledge, Skills & Attitudes (KSA) needed to tackle the current day health issues of children aged 0 to 10 years old. Amidst significant epidemiological shifts and emerging health trends such as weight issues, it is now an unavoidable matter and concern in this population group in this millennium.

This skills-based course aims to address the crucial KSA gaps encountered by Healthcare Professionals, Managers, Executives, Technicians (PMETs) in their daily care of children in the preventive and primary healthcare settings. With these gaps identified, build your competence and confidence to support the management of health issues to improve the health of the population.

Organised by the Department of Paediatrics, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, this course is designed for PMETs who are working in child and adolescent preventive and primary healthcare industry in the region.

1. Better manage a child depending on the following health issues based on theoretical and clinical knowledge.
a. Dental issues of children (0 to 10 years old)
b. Growth issues
c. Vaccination issues

2. Educate learners about basic mental health relevant to children (0 to 10 years old).

Pre-requisites: Polytechnic Diploma in nursing, Polytechnic Diploma in oral health, NITEC certificate in nursing, or equivalent

1) All self-sponsored Singaporean aged 25 and above can use their SkillsFuture Credit to pay for the course fee.

2) Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES): Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee.

3) Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS): SME-sponsored employees (Singapore Citizens and PRs) may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee.

4) Learners must pass all assessment components to successfully complete the course and receive a Certificate of Completion. Learners may have to bear the full course fee if they fail to meet this requirement.
