Programme Highlights
Health literacy can help individuals choose a healthier lifestyle, care for themselves and those around them better, and take advantage of preventive measures. This workshop aims to educate and equip participants with basic health-related knowledge and skills in the following healthcare topics such as nutrition, exercise, medications, health screening and vaccinations, healthcare finances, complementary medicine and mind health.
At the end of this workshop, you will be able to recognise:
- Healthy eating habits for adults and older persons
- Exercise do’s and don’ts for adults and older persons
- How medications work in general and understand prescription labels better
- Key symptoms, risk factors and treatment options associated with some chronic illnesses
- Healthcare financing options in Singapore
- Preventive health measures to understand the need for health screening
- Mindfulness practices for greater resilience, focus, and healthy ageing

Trainer Profile
A multidisciplinary team of trainers consisting of esteemed faculty and healthcare professionals from NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and National University Health System will be conducting each sub-section of the course.

1) All self-sponsored Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their SkillsFuture Credit to pay for the course fee.
2) Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES): Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee.
3) Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS): SME-sponsored employees (Singapore Citizens and PRs) may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee.
4) Learners must pass all assessment components to successfully complete the course and receive a Certificate of Completion. Please note that learners may have to bear the full course fee if they fail to meet this requirement.
