Advanced Tomorrow Summit: Revolutionising Healthcare, Wellness and Longevity in 21st Century – Day 2

Participants at ATOM 2023 Singapore Summit
Following panels on day one of the Advanced Tomorrow Summit that broadly discussed macro factors, panels on day two delved more deeply into healthcare delivery and provision as well as implementing solutions to improving the current quality of life and optimise human potential.

Anchored by Ted Souder, Founder of Wiggs Holder and former senior executive at Google, the first panel of the day looked to the stars as the panellists discussed the health frontiers of the future. Bulent Atlan, Founding Partner of Alpine Space Ventures; Dean Ho, Provost’s Chair Professor, Director of the Institute for Health (N.1) and the Institute for Digital Medicine (WisDM); Chancellor of UCLA, Gene Block; Chief Medical Scientist at Microsoft Research, Junaid Bajwa; Chairman and CEO at Aerospacemedic International Limited Paranjothy Karunaharan, and Professor Eric Esrailian explored how best to harness the good of technology, especially of Artificial Intelligence, to transform medicine and advance health. Professor Dean Ho talked about the immense opportunities in using one’s own data to treat, to flip non-responders and the promise of personalized, precise digital medicine.

At the second panel of the day, Dr Joanne Yoong, Adjunct Professor of the NUS Medicine Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions discussed ways to improve timely access to quality health services and bridge the equity gap between the developed and developing to achieve health for all with Dr Zina Affas Besse, David McCoy, Mari Elka Pangestu, Professor Srinath Reddy, Professor Gita Sen and Professor Paul Ananth Tambyah. Panellists called for stronger co-operation between the public and private sector to bolster primary health care and increased collaboration across disciplines.

Vartan Sarkissian, CEO of ATOM, hosted the panel session on Longevity, Lifestyle & Wellbeing and the conversation with Arkady Dvorkovich, Dominique Antiglio, Michael Redd, Roger Gracie, Chatri Sityodtong and Evelyne Bischof focused on how their lifestyle, techniques, and variety practices have helped them achieve peak results in their profession and personal life.

The last main panel of the two-day conference, ‘Investing in Health & Wellbeing’ was helmed by Roberto Musneci, Co-Founder and Senior Partner at Serban Musneci & Associates. He was joined by eminent investors Reynir Indahl, Hoda Abou-Jamra, Simon Hopkins, Cosmin Georgescu, Jérôme Pfund, Jim Mellon, Jeremy Pressman and Dr Manuel M. Dayrit. The conversations concentrated on the returns of investment for health and wellbeing, highlighting new focus areas such as longevity including drugs to prevent dementia and quantified human performance, as well as opportunities in the management of big data, diagnostics and sustainability.
Before the Summit closed to the tunes of Chopin, performed by young Singaporean pianist Goh Kai Cheng, Assistant Professor Kathleen Agres from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at NUS exchanged remarks with ATOM CEO Vartan Sarkissian on health, wellbeing and music.
Jointly presented by Advanced Tomorrow and the National University of Singapore, the ATOM Lifetime Outstanding Achievement Award was given to the following esteemed individuals, whose lifelong commitment and outstanding contributions have left an enduring imprint on healthcare, well-being, and longevity: Lord Ara Darzi, Mari Elka Pangestu, Maxim Vengerov, Noubar Afeyan, Renee Fleming and Dr Henry Kissinger (Posthumous).
