Programme Highlights

As healthcare systems and healthcare providers work under increasingly dynamic and resource-constrained conditions, we need to reconceptualise healthcare and design interventions that are effective and sustainable for the population in the long run. The objective of this in-person, beginner course will introduce participants to Behavioural and Implementation science and the ways they can help to increase the adoption of evidence-based interventions in clinical settings. Our experienced trainers will provide healthcare leaders and managers with case examples and strategies to improve uptake of interventions into routine practices, thereby increasing public health impact and bridging the research-to-practice gap.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand why behavioural and implementation science is important to healthcare.
  2. Identify barriers and facilitators that impact the translation of evidence to sustainable practice and system change within healthcare.
  3. Identify implementation strategies and implementation outcomes to design and evaluate tailored implementation interventions
  4. Describe and apply frameworks to design an effective behavioural and implementation strategy to real-world challenges.

This course is a collaboration between NUS Medicine Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI) and Centre for Evidence and Implementation

Course Accreditation

  • Accredited by the Singapore Pharmacy Council. Maximum of 8 CPE Points available.
  • Accredited by the Singapore Medical Countil. Maximum 4 CME Points available.

Benefits of Attending

  • You will learn principles of behavioural and implementation science, and how these principles can enhance uptake of clinical innovations into routine practice, and to identify and overcome implementation barriers.
  • You will learn how to use a logic model to design and evaluate an implementation intervention tailored to the specific clinical setting so that apart from knowing ‘Does it work?’, you will also examine ‘How does it work? For whom does it work?’.
  • You will be equipped with the knowledge to:
    i) identify the specific behaviours you want to change and the C4outcome of this change ii) identify implementation barriers and facilitators iii) select and tailor implementation strategies iv) develop an implementation plan for intervention delivery which includes strategies for addressing barriers and promoting facilitators.

Who Should Attend

  • All healthcare professionals and healthcare-related job roles.
  • Researchers and research-related job roles.
