ABAS

Why consider ABAS?

The ABAS allows NUS Medicine to exercise discretionary criteria in admitting a small number of students.

Applications submitted through this route will be evaluated by the Selection Committee on the basis of exceptional talent and achievement, in addition to academic results.

How applications are considered under ABAS:

For first-time applicants, your application for admission will first be considered under the standard admissions pathway by the NUS Office of Admissions.

  • If your University Admissions Score meets the cut-off point for Medicine, you will be shortlisted and invited for the assessment. You will not be considered through the ABAS scheme.

  • If you do not meet the cut-off point set by the NUS Office of Admissions, your application will be considered under ABAS.

If you have previously attended the admissions assessment:

You must submit your portfolio under ABAS as it will be reviewed for the shortlisting process. Under the Standard Scheme application, a candidate is not granted repeat assessment for Medicine.

To be considered under ABAS:

Students who wish to be considered under the ABAS must submit a portfolio consisting of the following:

  • Personal Statement
  • List of Achievements
  • Official Testimonial
  • Referee Reports
  • Any Supporting Documents

More information on the portfolio can be found here →
