Speaker: Associate Professor Lim Kah Leong, Head, Department of Physiology, NUS Medicine

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a prevalent neurodegenerative disease affecting millions of predominantly elderly individuals worldwide. Despite intensive research, the disease remains incurable. Invariably, the debilitating nature and morbidity of the disease present significant healthcare, social, emotional and economic problems. As the world population rapidly ages, these problems undoubtedly would also increase, which emphasises the urgency to develop more effective treatment modalities for the PD patient. Our lab has taken a multi-prong approach toward combating the disease. In this talk, Prof Lim will share about their progress in developing neuroprotective and neurorestorative strategies for PD.

Registration & breakfast at 7.10am, talk begins at 7.40am.
