SingHealth Polyclinic researchers and NUS Medicine students found that being older than 70 is linked to a form of low blood pressure called orthostatic hypotension. Based on the 2013 study done on 364 elderly patients, one in 10 of these patients suffers from orthostatic hypotension. They experience dizziness from a drop of blood pressure when they stand up from a resting position, and are more prone to lose their balance and falls.
