Histology Lab

The Histology Laboratory is located at DSO (Kent Ridge) Level 4, NUS Tissue Engineering Programme.

 

A one stop, drop-off histology service which researchers can rely on.

Our services cover sample processing, sectioning, staining and imaging.

 

Histology – Musculoskeletal tissue

Paraffin

1. Fixation, decalcification and processing of samples
2. Paraffin embedding
3. Small to Large soft / decalcified tissue sectioning and collection
4. Routine stains for musculoskeletal tissue
5. Special stains – immunohistology for musculoskeletal tissue

Resin

1. Fixation and processing of undecalcified samples
2. Undecalcified bone embedding with Technovit 7200 resin
3. Small to Large undecalcified bone sectioning together with orthopaedic implant

The Histology Service Laboratory is equipped with the following equipment:

1. Thermo Scientific Citadel 2000 Tissue Processor
2. Thermo Scientific HistoStar Embedding Centre
3. Leica RM2135 Microtomes
4. Leica SM2010 Microtome
5. Exakt 310 Band Cutting
6. Exakt 400 Micro Grinding System
7. Nikon Ti2 Inverted Microscope
