60 Years of Orthopaedic Surgery in Singapore

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

2012 is a special year for the NUS Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of our Department. As this special occasion also encompasses the orthopaedic community in Singapore, we have organized the 60th Anniversary Celebration Programme back to back with the Singapore Orthopaedic Association Annual Scientific Meeting.

The 60th anniversary programme, which runs from 8 to 10 October will consist of lectures, teaching and academic interactions with medical undergraduate and postgraduate students, including our residents and advanced surgical trainees in orthopaedic surgery. There will also be case conferences, seminars, and hands-on workshops.

We are pleased to host three distinguished lectureships/professorship with the Singapore Orthopaedic Association Annual Scientific Meeting (11 to 13 October). To mark this special occasion, we are honoured to have Prof. Gary G Poehling from Bowman Gray School of Medicine as the V K Pillay Lecturer, Prof. Kaye E Wilkins from The University of Texas Health Science as the N Balachandran Professor in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Prof. Franklin H Sim from Mayo Medical School as the R W H Pho Lecturer.

I would like to invite all our friends and colleagues who have played a part in the development of the department, one way or the other, to come and join us in the celebration.
