Notes:

Eligibility Criteria
Doctors who are undergoing the Paediatric Medicine Residency Training Programme in Singapore are mandated to take the Final MMed (Paed Med) Examination (all parts / sections).
All Applicants applying for the examination MUST:
- Possess a recognized basic medical degree and practising in Singapore.
- Fulfil the posting requirements at the time of examination.
- A pass in MRCPCH Foundation of Practice and MRCPCH Theory and Science examination
- A pass in MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice examination
- Observe the MRCPCH (UK) Clinical Examination rules and regulations via rcpch.ac.uk/.
Posting Requirement for Final MMed (Paed Med) Clinical Examination
Applicants must have completed at least 24 months of hospital postings as follows:
- At least 12 months of General Paediatrics and its relevant Paediatric medical specialties’ postings
- At least 4 months of Neonatology posting and
- At least 8 months of recognized elective postings which may include Paediatric subspecialties or General Paediatrics
- Local Applicants in the Paediatric Medicine Residency Training Programme will have their applications for the examination to be supported by their Programme Director.
Admission
Each diet of examination is capped at 48 examination placements. Priority will be given to eligible applicants who are in the Paediatric Medicine Residency Training Programme in Singapore, followed by applicants who apply for both Final MMed (Paed Med) Exam and MRCPCH Clinical Exam. Applicants who only apply for MRCPCH Clinical Exam will be given least priority.
Application
Separate online applications are required for the respective examination(s) and must submit by the stipulated closing dates:
- Final MMed (Paed Med) Exam: Online application via Graduate Admission System (GDA2). A step-by-step guide to applying online can be found here.
- MRCPCH Clinical Exam: Online application via RCPCH booking system. Applicants are required to create an account and submit an online application by the stipulated deadline. A step-by-step guide to applying online can be found here.
Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained. Hardcopy and email applications will not be accepted.
The following documents must be attached in the online submission to NUS by the closing date:
- Endorsement Form for local doctors in Paediatric Medicine Residency Programme. A copy of this form can be found here.
- Recent passport sized photograph (image in jpeg format has to be 400 x 514 pixel)
- Certified true copy of the following documents (Official English translation will be required for stamps or certificates sent that are not in English):
- Recognised basic medical degree
- Identification documents:
- NRIC: for locals / Permanent Residents
- Employment Pass and Passport: for foreigners (residing in Singapore)
- Passport: for foreigners (not residing in Singapore)
- MRCPCH Foundation of Practice and MRCPCH Theory and Science (formerly Part 1A and 1B examinations, respectively) result letter
- MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (formerly Part 2A examination) result letter
Photocopies of certificates and/or official translations (in English)* including any other official supporting documents will be accepted only if they have been prepared and/or authenticated by one of the following:
- the issuing University or Medical School;
- Medical Council of which you are registered and licensed to practice
- Government Ministries of Health;
- a notary public or Justice of the Peace;
- Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS) - For authentication by DGMS office, original certificates and documents must be produced.
* Applicants must submit an authenticated translation if their official supporting documents is not in English. A fresh ink stamp must be used to authenticate the copy or translation of the primary medical qualification.
Applicants who fail to present their original documents for verification without acceptable reasons will not be admitted to the examination.
Applicants whose original documents have been damaged or misplaced must apply to the relevant organizations / authorities for replacements or letters of verification.
An applicant is only allowed to enrol concurrently in another programme offered by NUS or another University only if granted approval from the Vice Dean of Faculty and the Head of Department. The Degree Programme refers to any programme (including examination-only programmes) which leads to NUS Degree conferment. DGMS is not obliged to provide reasons for unsuccessful applications. Other respective rules/regulations of DGMS apply.
Withdrawal Policy
For withdrawals, the respective NUS and RCPCH withdrawal guidelines would apply.
Final MMed (Paed Med) Examination
Candidates must contact the respective Officer-in-Charge (OIC) as soon as they know that they are unable to attempt the examination enrolled. Request to withdraw from exam must be made in writing. Emails are acceptable.
Candidates who notify the Division that they are unable to attend the examination on or after the examination dates must request a refund within 14 calendar days from the last day of the examination and provide the supporting evidence where appropriate. The Division will generally consider providing refunds to candidates under the following circumstances:
- Illness - Refund request must accompanied by a medical certificate.
- Pregnancy – Refund request must be accompanied by a medical report.
- Involvement in an accident e.g victim of crime, accident or disaster – Refund request must be supported by evidence such as medical report and/or police report.
- Bereavement in the immediate family – This normally refers to the loss of parent, grandparent, sibling, spouse or child and must be supported by relevant documents such as a death certificate, proof of the relationship, etc.
Supporting evidence must be presented in all cases.
All refunds granted will be subject to 10% administrative charges capped at $500.
Requests for refund under the following reasons will not be supported:
- Lack of preparedness or readiness for the exam for which the candidate has enrolled.
- Failure to arrange time away from work
- Inability to secure a visa or other travel documents required to atten.d the examination.

Description
The 5-day full‐time course is designed to prepare applicants for the Final Master of Medicine (Paediatric Medicine) [MMed (Paed Med)] / MRCPCH (UK) Clinical Examination. The course will provide opportunities to hone your communication and consultation skills and in short cases including developmental assessment. The teaching faculty will comprise a mixture of local Consultants and a Visiting Lecturer. Course participants are expected to do all their preliminary readings before the commencement of the course.
CME Point
CME points will be awarded to successfully enrolled students who attend the Master of Medicine (Paediatric Medicine) Course sessions.
Application
Applicants are required to create an account and submit your application online via DGMS Online System for Course Applications (OSCA) by the closing date as stipulated above. A completed application would have fulfilled the following:
- all required fields are accurately filled and all supporting documents are uploaded into the system
- the non-refundable SGD76.30 payment is successful and supported by Tax Invoice (also known as the receipt) which is downloadable from the system
A completed application does not indicate a successful placement or admission into the course. Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained. Hardcopy and email applications will not be accepted.
The following documents must be submitted together with your application:
- Recent passport-sized photograph (image has to be 400 x 514 pixels)
