Fees

As this is a joint examination, applicant who wishes to take the examination in Singapore is required to pay both the Final Master of Medicine (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) [MMed (O&G)] fee as well as the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (MRCOG) Part 3 fee.

Notes:

  • *Application fee is non-refundable and must be paid at the time of application.
  • Final MMed (O&G) examination fees is payable after successful enrolment upon further notification.
  • Successful applicants will be notified via email to accept placement. Placement will be confirmed only after successful payment transaction.
  • Final MMed (O&G) fees are inclusive of the prevailing GST rate and subject to changes without prior notice.
Eligibility Criteria
  1. All applicants applying for the examination MUST:
    1. attach a successful result of MRCOG Part 2 Written examination.
    2. possess 4 years of accredited O&G training – a Letter of Certification of completed postings endorsed by the Programme Director.
  2. Other respective rules/regulations of Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS) and the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG) governing the conduct of the MMed (O&G)/MRCOG will apply.
  3. All applicants practising in Singapore must apply for both MMed (O&G) and MRCOG.
  4. Admission into the MMed (O&G) portion of the conjoint exam is subjected to advice by the MMed (O&G) committee.
Admission

Priority will be given to eligible applicants who are in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Residency Training Programme in Singapore, followed by applicants who apply for both MMed (O&G) and MRCOG Part 3 Exam. Applicants who only apply for MRCOG Part 3 will be given least priority.

Application

Separate online applications are required for the MMed (O&G) and MRCOG Part 3.

  1. MMed (O&G) Application

Applicants are required to create an account and submit an online application, via Graduate Admission System (GDA2) by the stipulated deadline. A step-by-step guide to applying online can be found here.

A completed application would have fulfilled the following:

  1. all required fields are accurately filled and all supporting documents are uploaded into the system
  2. a unique 10-digit application number is auto-generated by the system (we recommend that you jot down the number for reference)
  3. the non-refundable SGD76.30 payment is successful and supported by Tax Invoice (also known as the receipt) which is downloadable from the system
  4. auto-generated confirmation of receipt of application from Graduate Admission System (GDA2)

A successfully completed application does not indicate a successful placement or admission into the examination. All applications and fees must be submitted by the closing date as stipulated above. Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained. Hardcopy and email applications will be not accepted.

The following documents must be submitted via GDA2:

  • Recent passport-sized photograph (image has to be 400 by 514 pixels)
  • Pass letter for MRCOG Part 1 and Part 2 Written Examination
  • Letter of Certification of completed postings endorsed by the Programme Director
  • Certified true copy of following documents (official English translations will be required for stamps or certificates sent that are not in English):
    • Recognised basic medical degree
    • Medical registration (must be valid by the time of sitting the examination (in English medium)
    • Identification documents:
      • NRIC: for locals / Permanent Residents
      • Employment Pass and Passport: for foreigners (residing in Singapore)
      • Passport: for foreigners (not residing in Singapore)

Photocopies of certificates and/or official translations (in English)^ including any other official supporting documents will be accepted only if they have been prepared and/or authenticated by one of the following:

  • the issuing University or Medical School;
  • Medical Council of which you are registered and licensed to practice
  • Government Ministries of Health;
  • a notary public or Justice of the Peace;
  • DGMS - For authentication by DGMS office, original certificates and documents must be produced.

^Applicants must submit an authenticated translation if their official supporting documents is not in English. A fresh ink stamp must be used to authenticate the copy or translation of the primary medical qualification.

Applicants who fail to present their original documents for verification without acceptable reasons will not be admitted to the examination.

Applicants whose original documents have been damaged or misplaced must apply to the relevant organizations / authorities for replacements or letters of verification.

An applicant is only allowed to enrol concurrently in another programme offered by NUS or another University only if granted approval from the Vice Dean of Faculty and the Head of Department. The Degree Programme refers to any programme (including examination-only programmes) which leads to NUS Degree conferment. DGMS is not obliged to provide reasons for unsuccessful applications. Other respective rules/regulations of DGMS apply.

  1. MRCOG Part 3 Application

Applicants who have updated their home and email addresses by 5 February 2024, and submitted their Assessment of Training by 25 January 2024 will receive a booking token from RCOG before the RCOG application commences. Withdrawal Policy

For withdrawals, the respective NUS and RCOG withdrawal guidelines would apply.

MMed (O&G) Examination

Candidates must contact the respective Officer-in-Charge (OIC) as soon as they know that they are unable to attempt the examination enrolled.  Requests to withdraw from the Examination must be made in writing.  Emails are acceptable.

Candidates who notify the Division that they are unable to attend the examination on or after the examination date must request for a refund within 14 calendar days from the last day of the examination and provide the supporting evidence where appropriate.  The Division will generally consider providing refunds to candidates under the following circumstances:

  1. Illness – Refund request must be accompanied by a medical certificate.
  2. Pregnancy – Refund request must be accompanied by a medical report.
  3. Involvement in an accident e.g. victim of crime, accident or disaster – Refund request must be supported by evidence such as medical report and/or police report.
  4. Bereavement in the immediate family. This normally refers to loss of parent, grandparent, sibling, spouse or child and must be supported by relevant documents such as a death certificate, proof of the relationship, etc.

Supporting evidence must be presented in all cases.

All refunds will be subject to 10% administrative charges capped at SGD500.

Requests for refunds under the following will not be entertained:

  1. Lack of preparedness or readiness for the examination for which the candidate has enrolled.
  2. Failure to arrange time away from work.
  3. Inability to secure a visa or other travel documents required to attend the examination.
