PROGRAMME DETAILS

This is a 6-month part-time Programme consisting of 120 training hours. The Programme is designed to encourage the level of participation for medical practitioners who may have difficulties taking extended periods of absence from their work. Each of the 6 Courses is offered as a 1-week block and must be taken consecutively.

The Graduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine [GDip (Occ Med)], offered by the Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS), National University of Singapore, aims to provide comprehensive skills to doctors in general practice and specialists who wish to have a better understanding of the occupational aspects of their specialty and to be able to implement programmes to protect and promote a healthy workplace in line with the Total Workplace Safety and Health (Total WSH) Initiatives.

Emphasis is placed on the importance of offering a total and integrated workplace safety, health and wellbeing programme. The Programme will also include “Fitness-to-return-to-work” assessment, management of workers with common chronic diseases, and a project to start a Total WSH programme at a workplace.
