Geriatric care and wellness: Shaping the health of older adults through a health resource program

Speakers

Dr Seah Betsy, a Research Fellow at NUS Nursing, is a strong advocate for health promotion and has developed a personalised health resource intervention for community-dwelling older adults.

In this episode, Dr Seah shares about the SHAPE intervention programme, a person-centric health resource programme for older adults, underpinned by salutogenesis, a theoretical concept that refers to the origins of health. The concept of salutogenesis focuses on what creates health in people, and how people use the resources that they have to cope with the stressors in their lives.

Dr Seah is also a co-founder and health resource specialist manager of a charity organisation: Health Concepts and Measurements-HealthierSG (rebranded as Total Well-Being SG from November 2023)
