PhD and MSc Research Programmes in Speech and Language Therapy


We invite enquiries from qualified Speech and Language Therapists, as well as professionals from related fields, who are looking to further their careers and contribute towards advancing evidence-based practice in speech and language therapy. Our research degree programmes are available on a full-time or part-time basis to accommodate various professional and personal schedules.

These programmes are administered by the Division of Graduate Studies, providing a dynamic, research-driven environment for academic growth.


Areas of Specialization

We aim to specialize in a variety of cutting-edge areas within the field of speech and language therapy. Some current and growing areas of research focus in our department include:

  • Bilingual language development in children
  • Development of validated language assessments with local norms
  • Social communication assessments and interventions (e.g., for populations with autism, dementia, etc.)
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for language learning and communication
  • The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in speech and language therapy assessment and treatment
  • Innovations in swallowing treatment and therapy
