Abstract Submission

Postgraduate students from YLLSoM are encouraged to submit their research abstract to the 10th Annual Biomedical Scientific Congress 2022. Abstracts submitted may include any research conducted during the candidature of your postgraduate degree. Abstracts should only be submitted if the corresponding author plans to present their work at ABSC 2022 for Oral, Poster, or Lightning Rounds presentations.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. All abstracts must be submitted in English.
  2. Please refer to the table below on the structure and format of the submitted abstract.
  3. Title word document as such: ABSC 2025 Abstract_Full Name
  4. Maximum of 1 abstract submission per student
  5. Please check abstract formatting carefully before submitting

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Students may choose to be considered for up to three categories that closely align with their topic; however they will be permitted to present in only one category at ABSC 2025.

By submitting an abstract, participants consent to present their work during ABSC 2025 and would ensure their availabilities on the stipulated dates:

  • Oral presentation (24 February 2025) – 3x4 finalists will be selected
  • Poster presentation (24th and 25th February 2025)

Participants will be notified of the outcome by January 2025.

More information would be provided for shortlisted participants upon outcome notification.

Designated presenting author of the abstract (subject to acceptance) must register for ABSC 2025.

ABSTRACT FORMAT REQUIREMENTS

Abstract should be submitted in the word document template provided. The abstract body is limited to 350 words (including title, introduction, methods, results, conclusions/impact and biography). All abstract contents should be structured into the following sections:
  • Introduction - A brief statement about the purpose of the study and the pertinent background.
  • Methods - The method(s) of study or data collection employed.
  • Results - A summary of study research including sufficient details to support the conclusions.
  • Conclusion/Implications - A statement explaining the significance of the work and the implications of further research.
  • Acknowledgements - In one line, state the supporting grant number and agency name. (optional)
  • References – Up to three references. List Author Name(s). Journal Name. Year. Page Number(s).
  • Presenter Biography - A brief, 2-3 sentences about the parenting author.
