Launch of Centre for Innovation and Precision Eye Health

The new Centre for Innovation and Precision Eye Health was officially launched on 25 March 2023. This launch was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs.

The new Centre was set up by the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS Medicine), and the National University Health System (NUHS). With the four major focuses (population data science, community eye care, precision medicine and optometry education), the Centre aims to improve the overall eye health of the population though bringing greater eye care accessibility to the community, tapping on AI and data science to understand and detect eye diseases and investing in gene and cell therapy to treat rare eye diseases.
