Creating a home for Clinician Scientists in NUHS
“Sometimes it is the people whom no one can imagine anything of, who do the things that no one can imagine.”
Today is the most amazing time in history to be a clinician scientist. Within reach are the whole genomes of our patients, precisely targeted therapies based on molecular signatures of their tumours, tracker devices to empower them to take personal health in their own hands,
The Clinician Scientist Academy is established with the mission to foster an exciting research ecosystem for NUHS clinicians. It is a collaborative effort between Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and NUHS healthcare institutions to nurture the next generation of Clinician- Scientists.
Our three-pronged approach
1. Support: Provide research grants to support young talents with funding to embark on their research and build their research portfolio. Research support unit provides professional support for biostatistics, systematic review, medical/scientific communication and scientific illustration. Research concierge provides administrative support and guidance to pipeline clinician scientists.
2. Enable: Conducts regular talks and workshops to train and equip our young clinician scientist with the knowledge and skills on a wide range of topics to enhance their research capabilities. Nurturing clinician scientists to progress in their research career in the future world research.
3. Nurture: Provides a forum for young and experience clinician scientists to network. Meet and Greet sessions provides dialogue platform for young clinician scientists to seek wisdom and be inspired by giants of the field. Dialogue sessions allows clinician scientist to seek guidance and share experiences.
