Dr Amanda Zain is the Deputy Director at the Centre for Sustainable Medicine and Assistant Dean of Sustainability at NUS Medicine. A paediatric consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore, Amanda obtained her MBBS and Master of Medicine (Paediatrics) at NUS and completed her paediatrics training at NUH. She is also a clinical tutor for medical and dental undergraduate and postgraduate students at NUS Medicine.

Dr Amanda previously served as Chief Resident of the Paediatric Residency Programme, and is an alumnus of the NUH Residency Leadership Development Programme. As a paediatric consultant and mother of two, her call to action was when she learned that 88% of the burden of climate change falls on children. She has since actively engaged in clinical sustainability projects and advanced the community of practice in sustainable healthcare among clinicians across Singapore. Shecurrently leads the Green QI module of the NUH Residency Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Distinction Programme (QIPS).
