Dr Chris LIM
Dr Chris Lim is an Ophthalmic surgeon with subspecialty interests in cornea, refractive and ocular surface conditions. He holds MD and PhD degrees. His team collaborates with an international group of multidisciplinary experts to address a range of important unanswered clinical questions. He also consults for industry partners on improvements to and innovation of ophthalmic devices and therapeutics. Chris presently leads the National University Health System Ophthalmology cluster’s sustainability efforts.
Chris’ team has an interest in understanding how microplastics and nanoplastics, and various plasticizer chemicals are introduced into medical devices and therapeutics. Their work is further focused on understanding how the presence of these contaminants impact upon human health. He believes in proactive engagement with industry stakeholders and regulatory agencies to facilitate a secure environment for clinicians to practice their craft – and uphold their cardinal duty of primum non nocere, ensuring that patients receive safe and good quality care they deserve through rational prescribing of therapeutics and use of medical devices.
