Yang Faridah Abdul Aziz
Dean and Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia


Yang Faridah Abdul Aziz is a professor and radiologist. She received her undergraduate and postgraduate training at the Universiti Malaya and underwent an attachment in Cardiac Imaging in America. She is an alumnus of the International Dean’s Course programme organised by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) focusing on training academics in change management. She completed a Master of Medical Education in 2022, in her bid to acquire new knowledge as a lifelong learner. Over the years, she has honed her skills in academia, clinical service, and managerial endeavours. She has formed institutional, national, and international collaborations and research in niche areas of cardiac imaging and medical education.

She serves as a member of the Medical Education Committee for the Malaysian Medical Council and the Education and Training committee of the Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology.

She is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Universiti Malaya.



Lawrence Sherman
President, Meducate Global, LLC, United State of America


Lawrence Sherman FACEHP, FRSM, CHCP is President, Meducate Global, LLC, a US-based organization involved in the assessment of global healthcare education systems worldwide, faculty development for educators of healthcare professionals, and support of continuing professional development in healthcare worldwide. Lawrence also holds an International Development position with the Association for Medical Education in Europe.

Lawrence has been involved in medical and interprofessional education, with a concentration in continuing education, for over 30 years, and has authored numerous scholarly publications and delivered hundreds of presentations worldwide on topics related to medical education. He is a Fellow of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (UK).

He has moderated hundreds of workshops, advisory and editorial board meetings, consensus panels, and curriculum development meetings. He provides communications and presentation skills workshops and faculty development sessions. He has also hosted an internet radio show focusing on key topics in medical education that was broadcast on the ReachMD platform.

Ronald M Harden
Emeritus Professor of Medical Education, University of Dundee, United Kingdom


Professor Ronald Harden practised as an endocrinologist before moving to full time medical education. He is Professor of Medical Education (Emeritus) University of Dundee, formerly General Secretary and Treasurer of AMEE, Teaching Dean & Director of the Centre for Medical Education at the University of Dundee, and until recently Editor-in-Chief of Medical Teacher.

Professor Harden is committed to promoting excellence through the development of new approaches to curriculum planning, assessment and to teaching and learning. Ideas he has pioneered include the OSCE, the spiral curriculum, the SPICES model for curriculum planning and models for outcome-based education. He has published more than 400 papers in leading journals and has co-edited several medical education textbooks.

His contributions to excellence in medical education have attracted numerous awards including the Karolinska Institute Prize for Research in Medical Education. He was awarded the OBE for his services to medical education by Queen Elizabeth in 2003.



Cheryl Holmes
Clinical Professor and Department Head, Division of Critical Care, Department of Medicine, and Associate Dean Undergraduate Medical Education, Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Canada


Dr. Cheryl Holmes serves as Associate Dean Undergraduate Medical Education, (UGME) and Head of the Division of Critical Care, Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She also serves as Vice Chair of the UGME Deans' Council for the Association of the Faculties of Medicine in Canada (AFMC) and collaborates on AFMC initiatives such as the Culture of Academic Medicine Initiative, the Okanagan Charter Collaborative and the Social Accountability Working Group. Dr. Holmes also serves on the Committee for the Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) and the Board of the Canadian Residency Matching Service (CaRMS). Through these roles, Dr. Holmes is committed to cultivating respectful, compassionate, and health-promoting environments in academic medicine, where equity, decolonization, diversity, inclusivity, accessibility, belonging, and social justice are prioritized. In 2015, she received the Canadian Association for Medical Education Certificate of Merit for her outstanding contributions.



Jason Lee
Director, Heat Resilience and Performance Centre, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Jason Lee is an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He co-leads the Human Potential Translational Research Programme and directs the Heat Resilience and Performance Centre. Jason co-chairs the Heat Injury Clinical Practice Guidelines at the Ministry of Health and chairs the Scientific Committee on Thermal Factors at the International Commission on Occupational Health. He is on the management committee at the Global Heat Health Information Network and leads the WHO-WMO Southeast Asia Heat Health Node to scale up efforts in managing the complex health risks posed by rising ambient temperatures.




Graham, McMahon
MD, MMSc

Graham McMahon, MD, MMSc, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®), which accredits continuing medical education (CME) providers in the US and internationally, creating a framework that supports, inspires, and motivates educators to achieve their full potential. Dr. McMahon leads initiatives to accelerate learning, change, and growth, enabling clinicians and interprofessional teams in practice to optimize their performance and continuously improve care for patients, families, and communities. In addition to his role at the ACCME, Dr. McMahon serves as an Adjunct Professor of Medicine and Medical Education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine teaching medical students and fellows and continues to care for patients with endocrine disorders at Howard Brown Health in Chicago.

Christina Puchalski, MD, MS, FACP, FAAHPM, is an international leader in the movement to integrate spiritual health into clinical settings, education, and policy. She is Professor of Medicine and Founder and Executive Director of the George Washington University’s Institute for Spirituality and Health (GWish) at GW University in Washington, DC. Dr. Puchalski’s work has influenced clinical practice globally through clinical guidelines and research. Dr. Puchalski has received numerous awards: being named in 2018 as one of “30 Visionaries” in the field by the AAHPM, and in 2022, receiving the Debra Sivesind Career Award for Outstanding Contributions to Palliative Care.




Amanda Zain
Deputy Director, Centre for Sustainable Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Dr Amanda Zain is the Deputy Director at the Centre for Sustainable Medicine and Assistant Dean of Sustainability at NUS Medicine. A paediatric consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore, Amanda obtained her MBBS and Master of Medicine (Paediatrics) at NUS and completed her paediatrics training at NUH. She is also a clinical tutor for medical and dental undergraduate and postgraduate students at NUS Medicine.

Dr Amanda previously served as Chief Resident of the Paediatric Residency Programme, and is an alumnus of the NUH Residency Leadership Development Programme. As a paediatric consultant and mother of two, her call to action was when she learned that 88% of the burden of climate change falls on children. She has since actively engaged in clinical sustainability projects and advanced the community of practice in sustainable healthcare among clinicians across Singapore. She currently leads the Green QI module of the NUH Residency Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Distinction Programme (QIPS).

Hatim Abdelrahman
Senior Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterology, SIDRA MEDICINE, Qatar


Dr. Hatim Abdelrahman is a Senior Paediatric Gastroenterologist, holding a master degree in medical education. In addition to his clinical commitments, he is interested in postgraduate medical education. He has a special interest in in the areas of research in medical education. Dr. Hatim graduated from Khartoum University in Sudan, and is Arab Board certified in paediatrics, as well as has achieved MRCP and FRCPCH, UK and the JMHPE.



Eusang Ahn
Assistant Professor / Clinician Educator, University of Ottawa, Canada


Eusang is currently an attending physician with the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Ottawa, and a clinician educator. As a former advertising account executive, language instructor and current father of twins, he has a strong interest in communication and its role in education. He has completed a Master degree and two fellowships in Medical Education. Prior to coming to Canada, he also completed a separate residency in Emergency Medicine and was an independently practicing staff physician in Seoul, Korea. Eusang aims to draw on his previous experiences to specialize in cross-cultural dissemination of best practices.



Ahmed Alhammadi
Senior Consultant General Pediatric and Acting CMO, SIDRA Medicine, Qatar


Dr. Al Hammadi is the Acting Chief Medical Officer at Sidra Medicine. He is responsible for the leadership of the hospital’s medical staff, upholding its clinical excellence and patient safety programs and ensuring that patients receive safe and effective medical care. Dr. Al Hammadi earned his MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) degree at Alexandria University, Egypt, in 1998. He completed two pediatric residencies, one at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar in 2003 and another in 2008 at British Colombia Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada.



Eman Al Maslamani
Senior Consultant Pediatric Infectious Disease, SIDRA Medicine, Qatar


Dr. Eman A. Rahman Senan Al Maslamani is a Senior Attending Physician in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Sidra Medicine, Doha, State of Qatar. She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the College of Medicine, Qatar University.

Dr. Eman is the Program Director for the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship. She is also an Assistant Program Director for the Fellowship Program and chairs its Assessment Committee. Administratively, she is the Medical Director of the Infection Prevention & Control Sub-Committee and a member of several committees at Sidra Medicine. She represents Qatar and serves as an examiner for the Arab Board of Health Specializations (Pediatrics).

As a practitioner, Dr. Eman enhances the health of infants, children, and adolescents by promoting excellence in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of infectious diseases through clinical care, education, research, and advocacy. She cares for and follows up with infectious disease patients in General Pediatrics, Oncology, Orthopedics, and other hospital-referred patients (e.g., ENT, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Burn Unit patients). She supervises fellows, residents, and medical students from Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar (WCMC-Q) and Qatar University in the Infectious Diseases Clinic as well as during daily rounds.

Dr. Eman actively participates in the Residency Program teaching activities, including the Morning Report, Academic Half-Day/Grand Rounds, Clinical Teaching Rounds, and other didactics. She is also involved in preparing and reviewing guidelines and policies as a representative for the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Guidelines Committee.

She has received various awards and citations and has published and presented several research studies and other scholarly activities both locally and internationally.



Dinesh Badyal

Dr. Dinesh Kumar Badyal is, MD (PGI), MHPE (UK), Fellow FAIMER (Philadelphia) and done International PG Dip Bioethics & Health Laws. Dr Badyal is Vice-Principal (Medical Education), Director-CMCL-FAIMER Regional Institute; Prof. Dept. of Medical Education; Prof. & Head, Pharmacology; Convener, National Medical Commission (NMC) Nodal centre, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India. He contributed significantly to new competency based UG & PG medical curriculum in India as Member of NMC. His area of interest includes faculty training, curriculum development, low resource intensive simulations, competency-based curriculum & clinical research/trials. He is Faculty in International and National Medical education, research & pharmacology programs. He published >160 papers and authored 3 books. Awarded Visiting fellowship By Rector clinical skills & simulation centre, Jefferson Univ., Philadelphia; “Scholarship” by German Academic Exchange Service; Dr APJ Kalam Memorial oration by KGMU Lucknow and “Prof. G. Achari Oration” for eminent pharmacologist by Indian Pharmacological Society.



Chinthaka Balasooriya
Associate Professor of Medical Education, University of New South Wales, Australia


Dr Chinthaka Balasooriya is Associate Professor of Medical Education at the Faculty of Medicine & Health, UNSW Sydney, Australia. He is an internationally recognised expert in Medical Education. His expertise has been recognised by the UNSW Medicine Teaching Excellence award, the UNSW Vice-Chancellors Award for Teaching Excellence and an Australian Learning & Teaching Council Citation. He was awarded the prestigious ANZAHPE Fellowship in 2016, and served as President, Australian and New Zealand Association of Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE) from 2018-2020. He is Chair of the ANZAHPE Fellowship Scheme and Chair of the AMEE-ASPIRE Panel on International Collaborations in Health Professional Education, and an inaugural member of the International Advisory Committee for Artificial Intelligence.



Chen Weiying
Associate Professor and Vice Dean, International School of Medicine; Executive Director, Center for International Medical Education (CiME), Zhejiang University, China


Dr Weiying Chen is the Vice Dean for International and the Executive Director of the Center for International Medical Education (CiME) at the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University(ZJU-ISM). Since joining the initiative of setting up a new international medical school in 2022, Dr Chen has been at the forefront of addressing international strategies, advancing global partnerships, and promoting transnational education. With a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, Dr Chen has long worked as a faculty member at the School of International Studies, with her scholarly pursuits in language and cognition. When she served as the deputy director in the University's International Office (2018-2022), she played an instrumental role in branding and global communication efforts, elevating the University's reputation worldwide. Her recent areas of research are in Curriculum Innovation, Crosscultrual Communication in Health Professions Education, and Internationalisation of China’s Health Professions Education.



Fremen Chou Chihchen
MD, PhD, China Medical University Hospital, Taiwan


Dr. Fremen Chihchen Chou is an Emergency Physician, Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine at China Medical University in Taiwan, and Director of the Center for Faculty Development at its affiliated hospital. With a Ph.D. in e-learning and science education, Dr. Chou brings a wealth of expertise to the field of medical education as a senior Clinician Educator in Taiwan. His areas of interest include e-learning, interprofessional education, and competency-based medical education. Dr. Chou has been instrumental in leading the competency-based training reform for the Taiwan Society of Emergency Medicine since 2011. He actively engages with the international CBME community and holds significant roles such as the International Regional Hub Leader for the Faculty Development Assessment Program in collaboration with ACGME, a faculty member of the International Course: Ins and Outs of Entrustable Professional Activities, and an inaugural member of the executive committee of ICBME collaborators.



Kimberly Dahlman
Associate Professor of Medicine, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, United States of America


Kim Dahlman, PhD is Associate Professor of Medicine, Director of the Innovative Translational Research Shared Resource, and Immersion Phase Co-Director of Curriculum 2.0 at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSoM). Dr. Dahlman is President of the Association of Biochemistry Educators and is the Program Chair for the 2024 International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) Conference. She was elected to the Vanderbilt Academy for Excellence in Education and awarded the Denis M. O’Day award for Team Implemented Curriculum (VUSoM), the Early Career Award for Excellence in Teaching and Innovation (IAMSE), and the Stephen Abrahamson Award for Innovation (Keck SoM).



Peter GM de Jong
IAMSE President, Leiden University Medical Center, Netherlands, The


Peter GM de Jong is a senior advisor and researcher in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning at Leiden University Medical Center in The Netherlands. His research interest is in the field of Online Learning in medical education, and the use of Mixed and Virtual Reality applications. He authored several articles and presented numeral oral, poster and workshop presentations, and is an active member of the Netherlands Association for Medical Education NVMO. Peter has a Master degree in Medical Technology from Eindhoven University and a PhD in Biophysics/Physiology from Maastricht University. Since 2007 Peter is involved in the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE). He has served IAMSE as Board member, Vice President, and the 2009 Program Chair and Site Host for the IAMSE Annual Conference. From 2010-2023 Peter was the Editor-in-Chief of IAMSE’s journal Medical Science Educator. He currently holds the office of IAMSE President.



Vishna Devi Nadarajah
CEO, Vice Provost and Professor of Medical Education, Newcastle University, Malaysia


Vishna Devi Nadarajah,PhD,MHPE, is currently CEO, Vice Provost and Professor of Medical Education at Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia , a campus of Newcastle University UK. She is Visiting Professor at Surrey University UK and Adjunct Professor at International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia. Until October 2023, she was Professor, School of Medicine and Deputy-Vice Chancellor, Institutional Development and International at IMU. She is a member of the editorial and advisory board of Medical Education, Clinical Teacher and Medical Teacher. She was awarded the ASME Gold for her contributions in Medical Education in 2023, the National Private Educator Award in 2018, the Malaysian Womens Weekly, Great Women of Our Time award for her contribution in Science and Technology in 2012. She is currently on the Governing Committee of AMEE and Advisory Board of ABPSEA. Her areas of research for health professions education includes Faculty Development, Assessment and Innovative Teaching and Learning methods.



Vajira HW Dissanayake
Senior Professor (Chair), Department of Anatomy, Genetics and Biomedical Informatics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka


Prof. Vajira H.W. Dissanayake MBBS (Colombo), PhD (Nottingham), FNASSL, FIAHSI, FCMA, FRCP is the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. He is also the Senior Professor (Chair) of the Department of Anatomy, Genetics and Biomedical Informatics of the Faculty. Internationally he is the Chair of the Board of the Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative. He has been a Past President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association and the Commonwealth Medical Association. He has authored 178 papers in peer reviewed journals and supervised 13 PhD and over 60 MSc students. He is the current President of the Sri Lanka Medical Council. He was conferred the Sri Lankan national titular honour of Vidya Jyothi for scientific achievement.



Laura Edgar
EdD, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, United States of America


Dr. Edgar, Senior VP at ACGME, leads in competencies, Milestones, and faculty development. She oversees innovation, development, and global collaboration for competency and Milestone programs, faculty training, and strategic initiatives. With a background in clinical lab work and leadership roles in certification and accreditation bodies, she bridges internal and external stakeholders to advance medical education standards. Dr. Edgar holds a doctorate in organizational leadership, a Bachelor’s in medical lab sciences, and an MBA, blending expertise in healthcare, education, and business for impactful leadership in medical training and standards development.



Diann Eley
Director of MD student research and training in the Medical School at the University of Queensland (UQ) and Chair of the UQ Human Research Ethics Comm, University of Queensland, Australia


Professor Diann (Di) Eley is the Director of MD student research and training in the Medical School at the University of Queensland (UQ) and Chair of the UQ Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC B). Di is responsible for the development and implementation of the ‘Clinician Scientist Track’ in the Medical School which encourages interest and facilitates medical students undertaking research alongside their medical degree. This includes a Higher Degree by Research i.e., MD-PhD. Her primary research focus in medical education and training, with a specific interest in temperament and character and their association with well-being and healthy mindsets. She has over 140 peer reviewed journal publications and has led many research projects through competitive funding. Di has been recognised for her leadership through university and national awards for teaching excellence and programs that enhance learning.

Darlina Hani Binti Fadil Azim
Senior Lecturer, International Medical University, Malaysia


Darlina Hani Fadil Azim is a clinical psychologist and a senior lecturer from IMU University. Her experience in both clinical and health psychology inspires her to apply various therapeutic techniques in her practice which includes motivational interviewing. Darlina’s interest is in digital therapeutics and the impact of technology and the internet on physical and mental health.



Anne Farmakidis
Senior Director, Digital Medical Education, Association of American Medical Colleges, United States


Anne Farmakidis is the senior director of digital medical education, leading a portfolio of medical education mission area scholarship, data, and educational technology programs at the AAMC. She also supports the AAMC’s medical education strategy. Previously serving as managing editor of Academic Medicine and senior director of publishing at the AAMC, Anne has focused most of her career on the intersection of medical education scholarship and technology disruptions. She has led major digital strategy and technology initiatives at the AAMC; most recently, co-leading the team building out the AAMC’s strategic response to AI in medical education. Her current portfolio includes both AAMC journals, Academic Medicine and MedEdPORTAL, the Curriculum Resources unit, which administers the largest medical school curriculum survey in the United States, and the MedBiquitous program, which offers the health professions education community a trusted place for guidelines, best practices, and collaborations around data and technology advancement and innovation.




Ardi Findyartini
Head of Medical Education Unit and the Coordinator of Medical Education Cluster at Indonesia Medical Education and Research Institute (IMERI), University of Indonesia, Indonesia


Ardi Findyartini, MD,PhD,is a medical doctor and Professor in Medical Education from Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia. She is currently the Head of Medical Education Unit and the Coordinator of Medical Education Cluster at Indonesia Medical Education and Research Institute (IMERI) at the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia. She has been teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in medical education and been very active in conducting workshops for faculty development in Indonesia. She is a member of AMEE Faculty Development committee, and the current chair of ASPIRE excellence in faculty development panel. She authored and co-authored many international publications in peer reviewed journals, book chapters and conferences. She’s also been involved as the reviewer of national and international medical education journals. Her research area of interest includes faculty development, professionalism, clinical reasoning and clinical teaching, interprofessional education, curriculum development, and socio-cultural factors underpinning approaches in medical and health professions education.




Jeff Fritz
Associate Director, Kern National Network for Flourishing in Medicine; Associate Professor, Department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology, and Anatomy, Medical College of Wisconsin, United States of America


Jeff Fritz PhD currently serves as the Associate Director for Learning and Partnership Development at the Kern National Network for Flourishing in Medicine (KNN). The KNN is a national movement whose work is focused on the integration of four foundational elements within the profession of medicine: character, caring, practical wisdom and flourishing. The KNN partners with medical schools and other stakeholders nationwide to transform healthcare’s educational and practice settings and create the conditions of possibility for flourishing. As a faculty member at Medical College of Wisconsin-Central Wisconsin he provided instruction in multiple preclinical courses. He also helped oversee and develop a medical student coaching program, and a near-peer support network reducing stigma associated with medical student mental health. He finds his greatest professional rewards in coaching, mentoring, and developing teams.




Simone Gibson
Associate Professor, Monash University, Australia


Simone is the Director of Education for the School of Clinical Sciences and Director of Monash Centre for Scholarship in Health Education (MCSHE). She leads quality and innovation in education for health professions. She is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators and is on the editorial board of their journal, Focus on Health Professional Education. Simone is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian, registered with Dietitians Australia, and has over 20 years of experience as a clinical dietitian working across all major clinical areas, including intensive care, surgery and endocrinology. Simone was awarded a national Teaching Excellence award in 2018 by the Australian Awards for University Teaching, and in 2017, the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence and the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Education (Quality of Teaching), demonstrating her commitment to student training.




Lesley Gray
6th- Year General Practice Module Co-Convener and Trainee Intern Elective Convener, University of Otago, New Zealand


Dr Lesley Gray is a British academic, residing in New Zealand since 2008, having previously worked in rural and remote Islands. Lesley has a background as a public health specialist and holds a PhD in Emergency Management and Masters in Public Health and Interprofessional Collaboration. Lesley teaches medical undergraduate and primary health care postgraduate studies. Lesley has particular interests in equitable healthcare and disaster risk reduction for marginalised groups in society. She has lived experience in disasters.




Aviad Haramati
Director, Center for Innovation and Leadership in Education (CENTILE) Co-director, Graduate Program in Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences, Georgetown University, United States of America


Aviad “Adi” Haramati, PhD, is an award-winning Professor of Integrative Physiology and Medicine, Founding Director of the Center for Innovation and Leadership in Education (CENTILE), and co-director of the graduate program in Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC. In addition to teaching renal physiology, Dr. Haramati has advocated that mindful practices together with small groups be integrated in the training of health professionals, and is currently piloting a course on Human Flourishing for medical students. She is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatric at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) and Qatar university-medical college. Dr. Manasik received her medical training at Gezira University, Sudan. Julie Hewett is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurial Management. She has over 25 years of office management experience working with small organizations in the services and manufacturing industries. This broad work experience allowed Julie to develop JulNet Solutions, offering management support services to small businesses, entrepreneurs, and eventually professional non-profit associations. Since 1998 Julie has been involved in IAMSE for Association Management and Meeting Planning. In 2010 JulNet Solutions got involved in the production of IAMSE’s online journal Medical Science Educator, and her office now offers Editorial Manager Support for the Editor-in-Chief. In her role within IAMSE she is also responsible for the social media strategy and outreach. Julie has led numerous workshops and presentations on the topic of the use of social media within Medical Education and Publishing, and for the purpose of professional community building.




Clement Ho Ka Chun

Clement Ho is a final year medical student in the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and has been working with HKU’s Medical Faculty on various medical education projects since his first year of medical school. His main interests are in exploring the ways in which students and teachers can cooperate and create better and more effective learning activities. He is a co-investigator of the award-winning research project and teaching innovation “Students as Co-designers: Formalizing Student-Educator Partnership in Curriculum and Pedagogy Co-Creation”, which has received both domestic and international recognition. Clement is actively involved in gamification initiatives and designing educational resources that can translate preclinical knowledge to clinical application. His involvement in this workshop and APMEC will provide a vivid illustration of how students and educators can partner towards improving health professions education for holistic healthcare practices.

Htet Htet

Dr Htet is a graduate of the University of Medicine (1), Yangon, where she earned both her MBBS and Master of Medical Science (MMedSc) in Pharmacology. She also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Professions Education at the International Medical University (IMU), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she is currently pursuing her PhD. In recognition of her significant contributions to academic teaching, research, and pharmacology-related activities, Dr Htet was awarded the Fellowship of the British Pharmacological Society (FBPhS) in 2022. Her primary research interests include pharmacogenomics, genomic medicine, medical education, medication safety, and evidence-based medicine. As a Cochrane author, she has a strong focus on systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and network meta-analyses. Dr Htet has published several works, including a Cochrane review, protocols, and is actively involved in ongoing Cochrane reviews. Dr Halah Ibrahim is an internist and educator who has been involved in postgraduate and undergraduate medical education in the United States and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She served as the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director and DIO for Tawam Hospital in the UAE during the institution’s initial ACGME-I accreditation. She has recently joined the ACGME as Vice President, International Outreach. Her research interests include international medical education reform and end-of-life education and communication. Dr Ibrahim is a native New Yorker. She completed her internship and residency at The New York Hospital- Cornell Medical Centre (currently New York Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell). Heethal Jaiprakash

Associate Professor Dr Heethal Jaiprakash graduated with an MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, India. She has a master’s in pharmacology from RGUHS, India, and a Masters in Medical Education from the University of Dundee, UK, with a teaching experience of over 17 years. She is currently the director of learning resources at IMU University, KL, Malaysia, and an associate professor of pharmacology in the school of medicine at the same university. She has been actively involved in curriculum review for the undergraduate Medical Curriculum. Khong Mei Li

Dr Khong is a Lecturer / Digital Education Consultant at the School of Clinical Medicine and School of Biomedical Sciences at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). Her involvement in medical education ranges from transdisciplinary projects to incorporating blended learning into the curriculum through modified flipped classrooms, redesigned online learning environments, and optimised educational technology. Dr Khong is involved in multiple teaching development projects. Nurolaini Kifli

Dr Nurolaini Kifli is a Pharmacist by training and did PhD in Medicinal Chemistry in 2003. She is a Senior Assistant Professor at her Faculty and worked for 20 years. Formerly she was the Pharmacy Programme Leader for 5 years and holds a post as Deputy Dean for 3 years. She obtained her degree in BPharm (Hons.) at Cardiff University in 1998. She had been appointed as a member of the National Board of Pharmacy in Brunei since 2014 and a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (UK) since 2003. As an academic, she had supervised 10 Master and 4 PhD students. She had been involved in Curriculum design for Medicine, Dentistry as well as Pharmacy degree programme and thus her research interests in Medical/Pharmacy Education. She recently published a book chapter "Pharmacy Education, Practice, and Research in Brunei". Her other research area are Medicine Wastages, Herbal Research as well as Pharmacy Practices.




Peter Lau Fat Man

Peter is a Lecturer at the Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC) at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). Alana Newell

Alana Newell, PhD is Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Innovation and Technology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA. She is an educational researcher specializing in the planning and implementation of study designs and data analysis. Olivia Ngan

Olivia has a multidisciplinary background in neuroscience, bioethics, and public health. She is the coordinator lead for the medical ethics and law curriculum of the undergraduate MBBS medicine program at the University of Hong Kong. In addition to her primary research interest in reproductive health, public health genomics, rare diseases, and empirical bioethics, she is passionate about cultivating ethical sensitivity among medical students. Neil Osheroff

Nicole Mollenkopf is a pharmacist with advanced education and experience in the design of safe medication-use systems. Her practice and research are focused on applying human factors principles to optimize the use of health information technology to realize quality and patient safety improvements. She is the director of interprofessional education at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and oversees required and extracurricular interprofessional education experiences for prelicensure and advanced practice nursing students. She is also part of an interprofessional team that teaches pharmacology to nursing students. She has extensive experience with course design and development, and she is primary investigator on a grant that aims to integrate genetics and genomics into nursing school curricula. She completed her doctor of pharmacy degree at the Temple University School of Pharmacy in 2004 and master of business administration in medical services management at the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business in 2014.

She has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, MSU since November 2004. She practices as a community pharmacist at the University Pharmacy. She received her B.Pharm. and MPH from Chiang Mai University and completed her Ph.D. from Mahidol University. Her PhD thesis was Development of Pharmacy Professionalism. Her research interests are drug use in the elderly, rational drug use, pharmacy education, and community-based learning. Dr. Ploylearmsang is an active member of the Interprofessional Education (IPE) sub-committee at the National Health Professional of Education Foundation, Thailand. Ganesh Ramachandran

Yvonne Steinert

Yvonne Steinert, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and Professor of Family Medicine and Health Sciences Education, is the Richard and Sylvia Cruess Chair in Medical Education and the former Director of the Institute of Health Sciences Education in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. She is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, educational research, and the design and delivery of faculty development programs and activities. Chair Professor Zhu Yi Zhun, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Macau University of Science and Technology, has received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and was named a Distinguished Professor in the Changjiang Scholars Program by the Ministry of Education. As the Secretary-General of the Asian Association of Schools of Pharmacy from 2022 to 2023, he enhanced communication among pharmacy educators in the Asia-Pacific. His research focuses on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, inflammation, immune protection, and new drug development. Leading over 16 major projects, including those under the NFSC Program, the National Major New Drug Creation Initiative, and Macau's Major Research Programs, Professor Zhu has secured over 180 million RMB in funding. He developed the novel class I drug SCM-198, which, under his guidance, was licensed to the industry for 150 million RMB and has progressed to phase II clinical trials.

She has previously served as Head of Clinical Governance at the National University Hospital Singapore and Patient safety Consultant with the Ministry of Health She has previously served in the Singapore Medical Council. Sophia has over 2 decades of experience in working in patient safety at the hospital and teaching patient safety at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She was awarded National Medical Excellence Team award in 2012 for patient safety. The Singapore National Day Award (Bronze) 2020. And was the Chair of AMEE patient safety special interest group 2022-2023.




Sophia Archuleta

Dr. Sophia Archuleta is Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the National University Hospital and Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). She is a clinician educator with a focus on postgraduate medical education and has served in multiple leadership roles in this capacity. She is the current chair of the ACGME-International Medicine Review Committee and founder of the Asia Pacific HIV Practice Course. Her clinical and educational research spans multinational collaborations with special expertise in interventional clinical trials, educational transformation and accreditation, as well as the cross-cultural experience of international clinician educators. Dr. Archuleta is the recipient of various awards for academic and clinical excellence including the inaugural NUS Medicine Gender Equity Award in 2022.




Sarada Bulchand

Assistant Professor Sarada Bulchand is the Lead for the Career Development Programme, for early-career researchers, at Duke-National University of Singapore (Duke-NUS) Medical School. She has 15 years of experience in scientific research and teaching at the undergraduate, postgraduate and faculty levels. She is the director for a course on Emotional Intelligence for a healthier workplace. She is a Workforce Singapore certified career coach and is also certified in advanced conflict management including the Thomas Killman Instrument. Dr Bulchand also leads faculty development programmes at the Duke-NUS SingHealth Academic Medicine Education Institute and has conducted numerous workshops in health professions education. She has received the ESME certificate in medical education. She is certified as a Team Based Learning practitioner. She coaches and mentors early career researchers towards their professional development aspirations. Zhi Xiong is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physiology and the Assistant Dean (Education) of NUS Medicine. Hui Ting Chng, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, National University of Singapore and registered pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council since 2009. She is a dynamic and passionate educator, with the expertise to bridge the teaching of cross-disciplinary pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences, and interdisciplinary arts and sciences. She is adept at using various active and collaborative learning pedagogies such as jigsaw, fishbowl discussions and visual thinking strategies, underpinned by constructivist, motivational learning, and cognitive load theories, to engage students in their learning. Her education research interests are on interprofessional and interdisciplinary education, active and collaborative learning pedagogy, mentorship, motivation in learning and empathy. Her disciplinary research interests are in the areas of pharmacokinetics of drugs used in veterinary medicine and drug information.




Chui Wai Keung
Joint Programme Director of the B.Pharm. (Hons.) Program, Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Science, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Dr Chui is a pharmacist who received his B.Sc. (Pharmacy)(Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore. He was conferred a Ph.D. degree, majoring in medicinal chemistry, from Aston University in Birmingham (UK). He headed the Department of Pharmacy at NUS between 2013 and 2015. Dr Chui is currently a council member of the Singapore Pharmacy Council. He is the co-programme director of the competency-based B.Pharm.(Hons) programme which integrates basic, clinical and systems sciences as its hallmark. His research interest lies in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. He is globally connected and sits on working committees from the World Health Organization and the Western Pacific Pharmaceutical Forum.




Scott Compton

Gavin Dawe

As Head of the Department of Pharmacology at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Gavin Dawe provides strategic leadership in medical and pharmacology education. He received his PhD in Pharmacology from King’s College London (UK), and his Master of Medical and Health Professions Education from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), Norfolk, VA (USA). He serves on the Editorial Board of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) Pharmacology Education Project. He drives evidence-based teaching and innovative applications of AI and digital technologies to actively engage learners. He is passionate about improving the quality of medical and health professions education curriculums. He is currently leading the second-year NUS medical curriculum through the implementation of curriculum enhancement. Kinjal Doshi
Senior Adjunct Lecturer, Department of Psychology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Dr Kinjal Doshi is the founding Director of Insight Therapeutics & Consulting, a practice focused on improving the health and well-being of healthcare professionals and the people they serve.

With a PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr Doshi possesses extensive clinical training in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, process-based therapy and mindfulness. She provides psychotherapy and health coaching services, particularly in areas such as sleep, pain management, anxiety and depression.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Kinjal Doshi has been actively involved in designing, developing and delivering programs to improve the psycho-social health and well-being of allied health, nursing and medical personnel. She has conducted numerous talks and workshops in healthcare and corporate settings to encourage staff to provide them with the opportunity to reflect, learn and apply skills that will help them live a more fulfilling life.




Kelvin Foong
Associate Professor, Faculty of Dentistry, Discipline of Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Assoc Prof Kelvin Foong is the Director of the Discipline of Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry at the NUS Faculty of Dentistry and a Senior Consultant at the National University Centre for Oral Health Singapore. He received the Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1988, the Master of Dental Surgery (Orthodontics) from The University of Adelaide in 1994 and a PhD from NUS in 2005. He directs the NUS Orthodontics Residency Training Programme and chairs NUS Dentistry’s Technology-Enhanced Learning workgroup. His educational explorations are in simulation-augmented learning, formative feedback, eye-tracking, and enhancing learning in orthodontics with Large Language Models.

Neelima Gupta

Dr. Neelima Gupta is an Instructor in the Department of Pharmacology at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. With a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and over eight years of postdoctoral experience, her research focuses on epigenetics in neuroscience and cancer, bridging basic science with translational applications. Her transition into education research and teaching reflects her dedication to enhancing learning experiences and curriculum design in the biomedical sciences. Dr. Neelima teaches and develops courses in Clinical Pharmacogenomics & Personalized Medicine and Complementary and Alternative Medicine, fostering critical thinking and practical application in her students.

In her role as ‘Education Enhancement Lead’ in the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, Dr. Neelima designs professional development programs to support postdoctoral researchers and graduate students in transitioning to teaching roles. Her education research spans AI-driven learning tools, game-based pedagogy, and the use of novel methodologies to advance teaching and learning. Derek Heng Jiun Yi

Derek is an Emergency Physician with a passion for learning. This passion led him to many teaching engagements with nurses, students, doctors, and other allied healthcare staff at various conferences and courses. He currently serves as Deputy Chief at the Woodlands Health Emergency Department and holds academic appointments at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. Intekhab Islam
Associate Professor and Senior Consultant, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, Singapore


A/P Intekhab Islam serves as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Faculty of Dentistry, NUS. He earned his B.D.S. in India in 2001 and later completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at NUS in 2008. He obtained his PhD in Bone Tissue Engineering from NUS in 2017. His research focuses on the application of Virtual and Augmented Reality in simulation training and dental education for undergraduates, as well as the integration of Artificial Intelligence in education for health professionals.




Krishnan Jayabharathi

Dr Jaya is a Senior Lecturer at the Anatomy Department of NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She is a training gynaecologist and has a strong pedagogical research interest in utilizing technology-enhanced learning in medical education. She developed the digital anatomy museum histology section which has supported student’s learning during the challenging times of the pandemic. Currently, she continues to explore creative ways of delivering teaching in effective and efficient measures.




Khoo See Meng
Senior Consultant, Alexandra Hospital, Singapore


A/Prof Khoo See Meng is the Chairman, Medical Board of Alexandra Hospital (AH). He is a specialist in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, and is the Director of the Sleep Medicine service in the National University Hospital (NUH). A/Prof Khoo served as the Programme Director for the National University Health System’s Internal Medicine Residency Programme from 2009 to 2017 and during this time, he received multiple teaching excellence awards. In his role as a clinician educator, A/Prof Khoo continues to contribute actively to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and remains a mentor to many today.




Serena Koh
Associate Professor, Alice Lee Centre of Nursing Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore


A/Prof Koh had received her PhD in Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, from the School of Nursing, University of Melbourne, Australia in 2008. She is currently Associate Professor & Programme Director, Year 2 (Academic - Undergraduate Programme) at Alice Lee Centre of Nursing Studies, National University of Singapore, teaching undergraduates & postgraduates on Leadership and management, Ethics and Law, Professionalism, patient safety and quality, Maternal and child health, as well as supervision of the students for their honour’s thesis. She worked in the Ministry of Health from 2009-2016, developing patient safety strategies and overseeing clinical quality in the hospitals. She previously worked in KKH as a midwife since 1995, and extended to research and teaching roles since 2001. Her research interests are in inter-professional education, patient safety and women’s health.




James Kwan

James is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore. He holds academic appointments at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. James is a Council Member of the College of Emergency Physicians, Academy of Medicine Singapore. He is the Immediate Past Chair of the Core Curriculum and Education Committee at the International Federation for Emergency Medicine. Prior to his moving to Singapore, James was the Academic Lead in Emergency Medicine and Assessment at the School of Medicine, Western Sydney University, Australia. James is passionate about medical education and has led curricular development in undergraduate medical and postgraduate training programmes at a national and international level.




Mitchell Lai Kim Peng

Mitchell K.P. Lai received his PhD in Neurochemistry from the University of Sydney, Australia, and is currently Senior Lecturer with the Department of Pharmacology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, where he teaches neuropharmacology and cardiovascular pharmacology to a wide range of student cohorts, including undergraduate and graduate Life Science, Dental, Pharmacy, Medical and Nursing. He is also Director of the Youth Programme in Biomedical and Pharmacological Sciences which provides short courses in both basic and advanced topics in pharmacology for visiting international students. Mitchell has research interests in both biomedicine and pedagogy: Apart from leading a research team at the Memory, Aging and Cognition Centre, National University Health System focusing on dementia biomarkers and drug discovery, he is also interested in developing effective, interactive tools for teaching and learning pharmacology.




Arthur Lau Chin Haeng

Dr. Arthur Lau is a lecturer in the Anatomy Department of NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine who has a strong interest in exploring creative ways of delivering teaching and learning. One such approach is to use serious games. Serious games are games, which can be digital or non-digital, used primarily for education, training, and healthcare, with the entertainment being secondary but not excluded. Dr. Arthur started diving into the field of game science during his doctoral thesis when he examined the learning and game design of commercially available serious games and explored the perspectives of educators about the utility of serious games in anatomy education. As a young academic, he hopes to increase awareness and understanding of game design and development and to make it accessible, less intimidating, and empowering educators with the confidence to use non-digital games in their teaching practices.




Lau Tang Ching

Adjunct Professor Lau Tang Ching is a Senior Consultant in the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine in the National University Hospital. He is the Vice-Dean (Education) at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is also the Group Director (Education Office) at National University Health System. He graduated in 1991 from the National University of Singapore and obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physician in United Kingdom and the Master of Medicine (internal medicine) degree in 1997. He is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore since 2001. He also holds both a Master of Medical Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology and a Doctor of Philosophy in School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medicine (University of Newcastle, Australia), a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) and a Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture (Singapore).




Lydia Lau Siew Tiang

Lau Siew Tiang Lydia received her Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing and Master of Health Science in Education from the University of Sydney, and her PhD from NUS. Lydia is passionate about education and provides strategic direction on educational approaches for undergraduate nursing programs. She has been involved in various educational research projects focusing on innovative teaching and learning approaches and the use of technology to enhance undergraduate learning experiences. Lydia serves as the Chair of the Education Innovation research program at the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies and is a fellow of the Teaching Academy at NUS. She strongly believes in inter-professional education and has contributed to the NUS Common Curriculum for Health Profession Education, aiming to improve student learning through interprofessional learning in community-dwelling patients. Additionally, Lydia has led the development of NUS nursing Entrustable Professional Activities for competency-based education in clinical practice.




Law Hwa Lin
Senior Principal Pharmacist (Specialist), Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore


Hwa Lin is a Senior Principal Pharmacist (Specialist) at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and Unit Head of National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) Pharmacy. Hwa Lin is actively involved in patient care, including the care of patients during pandemics. Besides outbreak management, she is also actively involved in the management of other infectious disease particularly with HIV patients and travel medicine. Hwa Lin is also actively involved in undergraduate and post-graduate education and training. She is an adjunct lecturer at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, a faculty member with National Healthcare Group (NHG) college, Residency Program Director for the National Residency Program R1 and Clinical Educator Lead (CEL) for Pre-Professional Education and Chief Preceptor for TTSH Pre-Registration Pharmacist Training Program. One of the notable workshops that Hwa Lin has been conducting is the portfolio building and assessment workshop for pharmacist embarking on Advanced Practice Framework in Singapore.




Lee Shuh Shing
Assistant Director, Centre for Medical Education(CenMED), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Dr Lee Shuh Shing, currently a medical educationalist at Centre for Medical Education in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine NUS (NUS Medicine). She graduated with a PhD in Education from University of Malaya, Malaysia and has been actively involved in education specifically in higher education and medical education. Shuh Shing currently leads the research team in CenMED by initiating collaborative research locally and internationally. She is the managing editor for The Asia Pacific Scholar (TAPS) journal, which was recently indexed in Web of Science and SCOPUS. Shuh Shing is also heavily involved in faculty development and designed local and overseas medical education elective programs for the medical students. Her research areas include students’ cognition, teaching and learning, and qualitative research. She serves as an editorial board member in several journals, as a member in BEME Council and publishes articles and book chapters in general and medical education.




Chee Han Lim
Deputy Director and Senior Lecturer, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Chee Han is a medical anthropologist who specializes in the study of healing systems, religiosities, and cultural constructs of the human body. Despite the label, Chee Han struggles with a wide spectrum of interests, having published on topics such as qigong, medical ethics, cognitive linguistics, religion, and experiential learning. He is currently a senior lecturer and the deputy director of the Impact Projects Programme at NUS College, for which he helps administer and supervise service-learning projects conducted for Singaporean communities. Lastly and mostly, he likes practising and teaching martial arts, and hopes to incorporate more martial pedagogies into higher education.




Jamie Lim
Deputy Director of Nursing (Education) and Advanced Practice Nurse (Cardiology), Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore


Jamie was certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in 2006. As the first APN in TTSH, she was determined to establish the infrastructure for APN development. In 2012, she took over leadership and built the foundational blocks for the profession which was new to many. With an unwavering belief that clinical foundation is fundamental to professional development, she was also entrusted the responsibility to oversee 55 Nurse Clinician (Speciality) in 2017. To date, the clinical family has grown beyond 100 with oversights from 2 capable APN-ADNs.

As an avid clinician-educator, Jamie has been happily and heavily engaged in a wide spectrum of educational activities and her learners include nursing students, medical students, allied health and postgraduate professionals. As a film believer of “learning beyond boundaries”, Jamie had ventured beyond the shores of Singapore to teach in rural areas of Thailand, China and Philippine as an annual commitment.

As a life-long learner, Jamie completed the National Collaborative Prescribing Programme (NCPP) at the National University of Singapore in 2022 and is now a certified Collaborative Prescriber. She is also the appointed TTSH Chairperson for the Cluster Committee for APN Competency for NHG and the co-chair for both TTSH Service Review Committee (SRC) and the Credentialing and Accreditation Committee (CAC) that ensures safe prescribing among collaborative prescribers in TTSH.

In 2022, Jamie’s leadership journey took her to Nursing Education Department, now known as ELITE (Education, Learning, Innovation and Training for Excellence). The transition allows Jamie to “marry” her love for clinical and education – a perfect union.




Lim Li Zhen
Senior Lecturer, Discipline of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Li Zhen is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore (NUS), and a Consultant at the National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore (NUCOHS). She received her BDS from NUS in 2010, and her MSc degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017. She teaches modules in oral radiography and radiology to undergraduate and postgraduate dental students. Her research interests include the evaluating the diagnostic impact and efficacy of imaging, and the use of technology-enhanced learning in dental education.




Eugene Loh
Senior Lecturer, Discipline of Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Dr Eugene Loh is a senior lecturer in the Discipline of Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also a Senior Consultant and Orthodontic specialist, National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore. He is the orthodontic module co-ordinator and the orthodontic lead for Orthodontics at the Centre for Advanced Dental Education (CADE). In DentAlliance, an alliance of 4 international university dental schools, Dr Loh helms the orthodontic continuing education for NUS. His research interests include technology enhanced learning, feedback and sleep disordered breathing in dentistry. His other area of interest is leading dental missions to Cambodia.




Ivan Low
Senior Lecturer, Department of Physiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Ivan is a Senior Lecturer and the Director for Continuous Education Training (CET) in the Department of Physiology, National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also the Deputy Director of Medical Education in the department. He teaches medical and life sciences students and leads curriculum design for adult learning CET courses on topics related to exercise physiology and health. He is a strong proponent of contextualized and experiential learning and has received multiple Faculty Teaching Excellence Awards as well as NUS Honour roll in Teaching Excellence. In addition to his teaching commitments, Ivan runs a Human Performance and Applied Physiology laboratory in NUS and his main research interests lie in the area of thermoregulation and fluid balance to enhance human performance and cognition. He has a provisional patent filed for an ear-based core temperature monitoring system and has multiple publications in the field of thermal physiology and brain functions.




Matthew Low Jian Wen
Consultant, National University Hospital, Singapore


Dr Matthew Low is Director of Phase IV of the undergraduate programme, Deputy Chair of the Faculty Assessment Committee, and a member of the Data Analytics Team at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. At the NUHS residency programme, he leads the Medical Education Distinction Track, a faculty development programme for residents interested in becoming educators. He is the co-lead for the Masters of Emergency Medicine Part A basic science examination held by the Division of Graduate Medical Studies, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and consultant in charge of departmental grand rounds and medical officer education at NUH EMD and AH UCC.




Nathasha Luke

Dr Nathasha Luke is a Lecturer at the Department of Physiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore, and a Resident Physician at Ng Teng Fong Hospital, Singapore. She is a clinician, educator, and researcher. She teaches undergraduate students in Medicine, Pharmacy, and Life sciences. She has multiple scientific publications in leading medical journals. Raj Menon

Dr Raj Menon completed his undergraduate training at the National University of Singapore and embarked on specialist training in General Surgery with the Department of Surgery, NUH. He completed his fellowship exams with the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and further trained in Trauma and Vascular Surgery. He was awarded the Academic Medicine Development Award and completed a fellowship with the Royal London Hospital in Advanced Trauma and Vascular Surgery in 2018. He completed a Masters in Trauma Science with the Queen Mary University of London in 2018.




Shirley Ooi
Senior Consultant, National University Hospital, Singapore


Adjunct Professor Shirley Ooi is a senior consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH) Emergency Medicine Department, Singapore. She is also the Associate Dean and Medical Clinical Education Lead in NUH, a member of the Emergency Medicine national examination committee and a member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education - International (ACGME-I) review committee. She is the chief editor of the “Guide to the Essentials in Emergency Medicine 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions” and co-author of “Medicolegal Issues in Emergency Medicine and Family Practice: Case Scenarios”. Her passion is in teaching/mentoring/coaching for which she has won multiple awards - the most prestigious being the 2013 National Outstanding Clinician Educator award, as well as the 2020 ACGME-I Physician Leader Award. A believer in life-long learning, she completed her Masters of Health Professions Education (MHPE) in 2017, and Newfield’s Coach certification programme in May 2021.




Priya Paranthaman
Instructor, Department of Pharmacology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore


As an instructor in the Department of Pharmacology at NUS, I teach pharmacology to a diverse group of healthcare professionals and life sciences students. As part of my academic research endeavours, I am exploring the potential of AI-enhanced educational strategies, with a particular focus on the integration of ChatGPT in teaching and learning processes. I have also contributed to a paper published in Medical Teacher titled: “Twelve tips to leverage AI for efficient and effective medical question generation: A guide for educators using Chat GPT”. Together with my co-researchers, I facilitated a workshop on the use of ChatGPT for medical question generation at APMEC 2024 and contributed to a lightning talk titled “Harnessing the Power of ChatGPT in Healthcare Education” at HECC 2023. Currently, I am engaged in broadening the application of ChatGPT to encompass a wide range of dimensions within healthcare education.




Catherine Poey

An experienced Nurse Educator and trained midwife, Catherine commits herself to the education of healthcare professionals to be competent and confident practitioners with patients at the heart of all they do. She has collaborated with healthcare professionals from different disciplines to design and implement training programs to equip her colleagues with advanced knowledge and skills to provide quality and safe care to their patients. She also has a special interest in interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) and is a passionate member of the IPE faculty in KKH. She strongly believes that IPCP plays a part in enhancing patient safety as it encourages interprofessional communication and teamwork among healthcare providers, patients and their caregivers. She has facilitated in numerous interprofessional education workshops, such as the IPE Ward Rounds and the Virtual Interprofessional Teaching And Learning (VITAL) Workshop in collaboration with the University of Toronto.




Rajkumar Ramamoorthy

Dr Rajkumar Ramamoorthy received his Ph.D (neuropharmacology) from BITS (Pilani), India. He began his career in Singapore 2008 and completed his research stint as Senior Research Fellow in the Dept. of Pharmacology, NUS, where he carried out in vivo electrophysiological and behavioural investigations and published in journals of international repute. Between 2014 and 2024 he functioned as Senior Manager (animal research safety lead) and safety officer in the Office of Risk Management and Compliance, NUS. During this regulatory role, he was involved in implementing policies and achieving compliance in biological, chemical and radiation safety in NUS. Dr Ramamoorthy is currently taken up an educator role as the Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology, NUS Medicine. He has the unique combination of research (academic and industrial), regulatory and teaching experience that are interwoven by the common thread of pharmacology.

Jai is Head, Department of Neurosurgery (NNI@SGH) and Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon in the National Neuroscience Institute. He graduated with his MBBS degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 1999 and was awarded his FRCSEd (SN) in 2013. Jai has a strong educational belief and was awarded his Masters of Science (Health professions education) from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2015. He is also extensively involved in the education of medical students and residents as the Program Director of the Singhealth Neurosurgery Residency Program and the Singapore Integrated Neurosurgery Program.

Dujeepa Samarasekera is the Senior Director, Centre for Medical Education (CenMED), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Senior Consultant (Health Professions Education) at the Ministry of Health Singapore. Dujeepa has been involved in curriculum development, quality assurance and accreditation and faculty development at both undergraduate and postgraduate level health professional courses.

Dujeepa leads the School of Medicine Continuous Quality Improvement team at the deanery. He is a member of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, Graduate Medical Education Committee, Faculty Assessment Committee and Curriculum Implementation Task Force at the School of Medicine and National University Health System.

At the regional and international level Dujeepa is a member of the ASPIRE for Excellence panel at the European Association for Medical Education to evaluate medical schools that have achieved excellence in specific areas of faculty development, assessment etc. and Co-chair the Asia Pacific Scholar Network (APMENet) in medical education. He was the inaugural elected president of College of Clinical Educators at Academy of Medicine Singapore and immediate past president of Association of Medical Education for Western Pacific region.

He serves in many international medical education organisations and has published widely in peer-reviewed medical education journals as well as authored book chapters relating to Medical and Health Professional Education. Dujeepa holds fellowships of the Academy of Medicine Singapore, Academy of Medicine Malaysia, the Academy of Medical Educators in the United Kingdom, Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh and the fellowship of Medical Educators Europe.




Sanjiv, Sasidharan Nair

Dr Sanjiv Nair is an Associate Consultant psychiatrist with the Department of Psychological Medicine at Changi General Hospital. He works closely with primary care physicians and community partners to deliver holistic mental health services in the community as part of the Assessment and Shared Care Program in Changi General Hospital. He provides specialist mental health consultations for adults and adolescents. He also conducts individual and group psychodynamic psychotherapy as part of the complex needs service at Changi General Hospital and is a founding member of the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Centre of Excellence.




Serena Seah Bee Kee

Serena obtained her PhD from National University of Singapore. Trained as a cancer biologist, Serena has worked with various laboratories including the Cancer Science Institute Singapore, where she was working on novel therapeutics and predictive biomarkers in breast cancer. She is currently a lecturer at the Department of Pharmacology (NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine) and Tembusu College, pursuing her passion as an educator and focusing on pedagogical research and interdisciplinary education especially in healthcare. In the department, she has been actively involved in curriculum development and working with different stakeholders to prepare students for real world challenges. She believes education is a journey, not a race or destination, preparing students with the skills and knowledge for the challenges that have yet to exist.




Kay Choong See

Adj Assoc Prof Kay Choong See is currently a Senior Consultant Respiratory Physician and Intensivist at the National University Hospital, Singapore. He is also the Associate Designated Institutional Official for the National University Health System Residency Program. Adj Assoc Prof See completed Advanced Specialty Training in both Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine in Singapore, a Master of Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, and a Master of Health Professions Education at Maastricht University. He is competent in bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, ultrasound-guided pleural procedures and thoracoscopy (pleuroscopy). His special interests include public health, medical education, and healthcare quality improvement.




Shefaly Shorey
Associate Professor, Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Dr. Shorey is an Associate Professor with tenure at Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, National University of Singapore (NUS). Her research program focuses on family and women’s health. She has designed psychosocial and educational interventions for a varied group of populations. She has conducted both quantitative (e.g. randomized controlled trials, descriptive quantitative studies) and qualitative (e.g. descriptive qualitative) studies and has published more than 190 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact factor journals. She is an expert in qualitative systematic reviews and serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for renowned international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Shorey represents Singapore for the Southeast and East Asian Nursing Education and Research Network (SEANERN) and the Global Working Group (GWG) on Salutogenesis. Dr Shorey has received various awards for her academic and research excellence.




Jonathan Y. H. Sim

Jonathan Y. H. Sim is Associate Fellow with the NUS Teaching Academy, and Lecturer with the Department of Philosophy, at the National University of Singapore. Heidi is a Senior Principal Occupational Therapist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She has held various clinical and education leadership roles in her 25 years of service in the public healthcare sector. She is an advocate for the professional development of Allied Health Professionals and AHP students in her roles as Clinical Educator Lead (Therapy) at the Pre-Professional Education Office and previously Education Assistant Director for Allied Health Division at TTSH. She is Associate Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology and is actively involved in the undergraduate Occupational Therapy programme. Dr Kevin Tan is a Senior Consultant Neurologist at the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) and Associate Professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Duke-NUS Medical School. He is Lead for the Centre for InterProfessional Healthcare Education (CIPHE), Academic Medical Education Institute, Singhealth Duke-NUS Academic Centre. He completed his Fellowship in Neuroinfectious Disease and Neuroimmunology at Johns Hopkins University (2008) and Master of Science in Health Professions Education at MGH Institute of Health Professions (2016). He is currently Program Director, Neuroimmunology- Neuroinflammation (NI-2) Program (NNI), Education Director (NNI) and Vice Chair (Education), Neuroscience Academic Clinical Program. His main clinical and research interests are CNS inflammatory diseases, immune-mediated neurological syndromes, neurological infections and HIV neurology. His medical education interests are team- based learning, innovations in teaching and assessment, clinical reasoning and interprofessional education.




Tan Lay Ling
Senior Consultant, Changi General Hospital, Singapore


Dr Tan Lay Ling is the senior consultant psychiatrist in the Department of Psychological Medicine, Psychogeriatric Service. Her clinical interests include mental illnesses in the elderly with a special interest in psychodynamic work and palliative care in people with dementia. She is also a Clinician Educator and Adjunct A/Prof with NUS-YLL, Clinical A/Prof with Dukes-NUS and Associate Program Director with the National Psychiatry Residency Program. She also holds the position of Undergraduate Medical Education Director and is appointed the Associate Dean NUS-YLL School of Medicine as well as the Campus Lead Educator of CGH. Her research interests cover a spectrum of mental illnesses in the elderly including depression, suicide, grief and bereavement and decision making in people with dementia. Her interests in health profession education research cover supervision/mentoring, interprofessional learning and educator professional development.




Reshma Taneja

Prof. Taneja is Head of the Department of Physiology at the National University of Singapore. She got her Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Science and did her postdoctoral training in France. She started her own laboratory at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and moved to Singapore in 2008.

She has published over 100 publications in top journals and has served as editor of two books. At NUS, she has several received awards for research, teaching, and mentoring, including the Faculty Research Excellence Award (2012 and 2018); NGS Teaching Commendation Award (2012 and 2013); Faculty Teaching Excellence Award (2019); and Graduate Mentor of the Year Award (2019).




Andre Tay Teck Sng
Senior Consultant, Changi General Hospital, Singapore


Dr Andre Tay is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Psychological Medicine in Changi General Hospital (CGH). As Director of General Psychiatry Service, his clinical work focuses on General Adult Psychiatry, Individual and Group Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in the Complex Needs Service. Dr Tay completed training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Tower Hamlets Psychological Therapies Service, the Tavistock Centre, and the Institute of Group Analysis in the UK. An accredited practitioner of Mentalization Based Treatment and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, he is also a certified Balint Leader with the American Balint Society. Dr Tay introduced and conducts Balint Groups for CGH residents, occupational therapists and family physicians, and is the Balint Lead for CGH under the population health initiatives. He co-leads the Psychotherapy Residency Program and teaches The Person of the Therapist and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy modules in the Master of Counselling program at the Singapore University of Social Sciences.




Swapna Teckwani

Dr. Daniel is a 2024 Young Biomedical Science Educators Programme participant, where he is translating many of the concepts to his classroom and laboratory education. He was awarded the Singapore’s Junior Chamber International “Ten Outstanding Young People (Singaporean)” in 2022 and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, “Outstanding Research Fellow” in 2021. He is an interdisciplinary scientist in developing technologies to vision loss therapeutics, neuroscience and cancer. His research includes wireless photodynamic therapy, wireless optogenetics and nanoprobes for visualisation of cellular and molecular processes. He pioneered the work of Near-Infrared wireless implantable using upconversion technology for the application of tether free photodynamic therapy (PDT) and optogenetics. In NUS, he is working to translate optogenetics and light based therapeutics from preclinical research to bedside for aged-related macular degeneration and glaucoma. He co-founded Ascension Onco-Therapeutics Pte. Ltd, a Singapore based spin-off to bring PDT to the clinics.




Wong Lik Wei

Wong Mun Loke

A trained dentist, Mun Loke specialises in Dental Public Health where its practice often requires close collaborations with other healthcare professionals. With his background in Dental Public Health (DPH), Mun Loke anchors the teaching of the undergraduate DPH and Behavioural Science curricula in the Faculty of Dentistry. He also played an active role in the planning the communication component of the NUS Common Curriculum for Health Professional Education which was introduced for Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry students. More recently, Mun Loke has been looking at how the formal and informal curricula can complement one another and contribute towards enhanced holistic educational experiences for students. Celestial Yap
Physiology Programme Director for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, National University of Singapore, Singapore


Celestial T. Yap, PhD (Edinburgh), MBBS (Singapore), is Physiology Programme Director for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy at the National University of Singapore, and Medical Science Lead of the Respiratory System-Block Workgroup, which fosters integration between medical sciences and clinical practice in respiratory medicine. She is also Principal Investigator of the Cytoskeleton and Tumour Biology Laboratory at the NUS Centre for Cancer Research, with a focus on biomedical derangements underlying cancer recurrence and spread. Previously serving in hospitals and primary healthcare, she now serves in committees overseeing mentoring, curricula and assessments. A recipient of several Education and Public Service awards at national, university and faculty levels, she is also active in spearheading educational efforts in compassionate well-being. Her experiences in education, research, clinical medicine and psychological health have engendered her endeavours to build a culture of holistic professionalism, through integrative approaches to health.




Mabel Yap
Director, Professional Training and Assessment Standards (PTAS) Division, Ministry of Health (MOH), Singapore


A/Prof Mabel Yap is currently the Director of Professional Training and Assessment Standards (PTAS) Division at the Ministry of Health (MOH). She is responsible for overseeing the training and assessment standards for healthcare professionals, from undergraduate to postgraduate levels. Additionally, she holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor at both Duke-NUS and NUHS.

A/Prof Yap's specialty is in public health, and she holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Master of Science in Public Health from the National University of Singapore (NUS). She also holds a PhD in Human Nutrition from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

Aside from her medical and academic qualifications, A/Prof Yap is also a trained teacher in several Mindfulness-based interventions [Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self Compassion (MSC), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT-L)] and yoga. She has a keen interest in promoting well-being and reducing burnout among healthcare professionals and students.

Jillian Yeo is a medical educationalist at the Centre for Medical Education (CenMED), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
