Module objectives

  • Develop a sound ethical and professional approach to practice.
  • Acquire essential knowledge of duty of care, consent, mental capacity, confidentiality, accountability, integrity and justice, grounded in the Singapore practice context.
  • Able to address some ethical and professional dilemmas in daily practice.

Staff nurses, nurse managers, nurse clinicians, advance practice nurses, and nursing leaders.

  • This module is organised by the NUS Centre for Biomedical Ethics.
  • It is taught by experienced nurses from the NUS Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies and NUHS who have completed the NECC Educators’ Course in Healthcare Ethics, Law & Professionalism, and experienced healthcare ethicists from the NUS Centre for Biomedical Ethics.
