Dr. Gneezy’s research has been published in leading academic journals, including Science, PNAS, the Journal of Marketing Research, Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Scientific Reports, Nature Communications, Marketing Science, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and the Journal of Consumer Research. Her work was featured by top media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Scientific American, The Huffington Post, and The Atlantic.

Often collaborating with companies, organizations, and nonprofits, Dr. Gneezy’s research explores individuals’ choices and behaviors within the domains of health and well-being, environmental sustainability, end-of-life decisions, and charitable giving.

Dr. Gneezy received her PhD from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. Prior to her doctoral studies, she managed the strategic planning department at DataPro Proximity (a subsidiary of BBDO Worldwide).

Prof Claire Henderson is a practicing psychiatrist in a community mental health team for adults with severe mental illness. Her research interests include development and evaluation of interventions both at the service level and societal level, to promote empowerment among people with mental health problems with respect to involvement in care, condition self-management, and stigma reduction. She uses both trial and observational methods to study effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and implementation, with a particular focus on reducing inequities in access to, experience of and outcomes of mental health care. Prof Henderson is currently Principal Investigator or co-applicant on several mental health service research and public mental health projects, investigating Recovery Colleges, Advance Choice Documents and Culturally Appropriate Advocacy, mental health literacy, and stigma reduction in low- and middle-income countries. Her educational roles range from undergraduate medical education and pastoral care through PhD supervision.

Professor G.J. Melendez-Torres arrived at the University of Exeter in March 2019 to take up a personal chair in clinical and social epidemiology. His work spans health technology assessment (HTA), public health of child and adolescent social development (particularly as it relates to schools), and intimate partner violence. He also leads the School for Public Health Environments Research at Exeter (SPHERE), which is the University's membership in the NIHR School for Public Health Research; the Exeter-Cardiff-Birmingham NIHR Public Health Review Team; and co-lead with Prof Jo Thompson Coon the newly established evidence synthesis group Isca Evidence.

At national level, Professor G.J. Melendez-Torres is the Associate Director for Involvement and Engagement for the NIHR School for Public Health Research. In addition, he is Deputy Director of the Exeter NIHR Policy Research Programme Evidence Reviews Facility. Until July 2023, he led the Peninsula Technology Assessment Group (PenTAG), one of 11 major research units in the UK providing expert advice on the clinical and cost effectiveness of new drugs to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. He continues as chief investigator of the platform grant that underpins PenTAG's work, alongside contributing to parallel programmes in health policy and medical technologies evaluation.

Professor G.J. Melendez-Torres holds the citiesRISE Research Chair in Public Mental Health, through which he leads a programme of research to develop new ways of promoting mental health for children and young people around the world.

Gayatri Kembhavi-Tam is a researcher with expertise in the area of rehabilitation, disability, research design and implementation with a focus on qualitative and mixed methods research, and research with vulnerable populations.

As a director in CEI, Gayatri leads evaluation of community-based interventions, and provides consultation on the implementation and evaluation of  programmes for people with disabilities. She has extensive experience as a clinician and educator. She has worked closely with clinicians to build capacity in research design and improve the application of evidence into practice.

Professor Tikki Pang (Pangestu) is a Visiting Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. He was previously a Visiting Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS (2012-2020) after spending 13 years as Director of Research Policy & Cooperation at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland (1999-2012). At the WHO, he helped establish an International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP), an Evidence-Informed Policy Network (EVIPNet), a Guidelines Review Committee (GRC), Ethics Review Committee and was Secretary of the WHO Advisory Committee for Health Research (ACHR). Previous to his time at the WHO, he spent 22 years as an academic at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (1977-1999).

Professor Pang holds a PhD in microbiology/immunology from the Australian National University and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (UK), American Academy of Microbiology (USA) and the Malaysian Academy of Medicine. He previously served as Chair of the Board of the Asia Pacific Leaders Malaria Alliance (APLMA) and the Southeast Asia Community Observatory (SEACO).

He has published more than 300 scientific articles and was lead author on several major WHO reports including the World Health Report 2013: Research for Universal Health Coverage (2013), Knowledge for Better Health (2004) and Genomics and World Health (2002). His main research interests are in infectious diseases, immunization, global health & its governance, evidence to policy processes, health research systems, biosecurity and pandemic preparedness.

Uri Gneezy is the Epstein/Atkinson Endowed Chair in Behavioral Economics and professor at the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego. He received his B.A. in economics at Tel Aviv University and Ph.D. in economics at Tilburg University. Gneezy joined UC San Diego in 2006. He is also a visiting professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Prior to that, he was a professor at the University of Chicago, the Technion and the University of Haifa. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Amsterdam, NHH Bergen and Burgundy School of Business.

As a researcher, Gneezy focuses on putting behavioral economics to work in the real world, where theory can meet application. He is looking for basic research as well as more applied approaches to the study of when and why incentives (don’t) work. His research covers topics such as incentives-based interventions to increase good habits and decrease bad ones, behavioral health economics, gender differences in reaction to incentives, and how incentives affect deception and ethical behavior in general. In addition to the traditional laboratory and field studies, he is working with firms on using basic findings from behavioral economics to help companies achieve their traditional goals in non-traditional ways.

Gneezy’s research includes over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, for which he won the Most Highly Cited Researcher prize for the last 8 years. He is a coauthor (with John List) of the international best seller The Why Axis: Hidden Motives and the Undiscovered Economics of Everyday Life and author of Mixed Signals: How Incentives Really Work which describes his academic work in a more accessible way to non-academics.

Dr Yoong is a behavioral microeconomist whose broad interests lie in social science research that supports better well-being for vulnerable populations. Her work in health covers the study of individual patient and provider choices, the evaluation of healthcare policy and practice as well as the economic assessment of new health technologies. She is an experienced educator at the university and professional level.

As a practising medical statistician, Dr Chan Siew Pang holds co-appointments with the Cardiovascular Research Institute, National University Heart Centre (Singapore) and Institute of Geriatrics & Active Ageing, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Graduated with a doctoral degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering, he had held full-time academic appointments at SIM University (rebranded as Singapore University of Social Sciences) and La Trobe University, Australia. He has taught calculus, business analytics and statistics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with evaluation exceeding 4/5. Active in scientific publication and promoting statistical research in Southeast Asia, Dr Chan's current research interests include machine-learning augmented generalized structural equation model.

Adjunct Associate Prof Ng Chew Lip is Senior Consultant and Clinical Director of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He was elected Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore, Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Fellow of the International Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

He has keen interest in innovation in surgery and surgical systems, having developed novel surgical techniques and instruments in Rhinoplasty and Sinus Surgery. He received the National Healthcare Innovation Gold Medal in 2023 as the lead of a team that optimised the hospital surgical system harnessing deep data analytics and visualisation to optimise processes and human resource, leading to significant manpower, time and cost savings.

As a committed educator, A/Prof Ng serves as the Undergraduate Director of the Department and former Associate Program Director of the NUHS ENT Residency Programme. He also directs a Clinical Observership Programme to train international surgeons. He received over $1million in grants as Principal Investigator, has authored several medical text book chapters and serves on the Editorial Boards of medical journals.

Cheryl is a developmental psychologist with clinical and research expertise in child development, disabilities, early intervention for children, parenting and attachment.

As the director in CEI, she leads her team in evaluating initiatives such as KidSTART and provides consultation for government and social service agencies in the implementation of programs to improve outcomes for vulnerable young children and their families. She is an experienced trainer for practitioners and educators in inclusive classroom practices.

Jacqueline is a Senior Scientist with the Mobile Health Interventions module of the Future Health Technologies (FHT) programme at the Singapore-ETH Centre. She leads interdisciplinary research projects at the intersection of behavioural, computer, and clinical sciences, leveraging AI, mobile apps, and wearable technologies to improve health and wellbeing. In collaboration with the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and ETH Zurich, she has led the development and evaluation of a smartphone-based, chatbot-delivered intervention to support healthy behaviours for the prevention of non-communicable diseases in Singapore.

Jacqueline is passionate about using innovative and accessible technologies to shape the future of healthcare and support healthier lifestyles for all. With a background in exercise science and physical activity behaviour change, her work critically examines how innovations in technology can be leveraged to develop scalable, evidence-based interventions that support sustained improvements in health-related behaviours.

After earning his doctoral degree in engineering in 2009, Hong Choon has been involved extensively in health services research in various public healthcare institutions in Singapore. He currently heads the Health Services Research team in CGH which primarily leads and supports CGH researchers in the domains of analytics, health technology assessment and program evaluation. Hong Choon also serves as Deputy Director at SingHealth Centre for Population Health Research and Implementation where he leads the evaluation effort of key population health programmes within the SingHealth cluster. On educational front, Hong Choon teaches analytics in academic programs organized by NUS and SingHealth-SUTD. Hong Choon’s current research interest is in the areas of prescriptive/predictive analytics, and cost effectiveness evaluation.

Serene is a behavioural scientist and currently the Director of BIT Singapore where she leads the domestic consultancy work as well as capability building across the region. She helped to set up the office in 2016 and has managed projects across various policy domains including health, enforcement & compliance, community, skills and employment, home affairs .

Serene has led more than 200 behavioural projects, just under half of which are randomised-controlled trials. She also has deep expertise in capability building– to date, she has delivered training workshops to more than 5000 civil servants, NGO practitioners, and private sector partners in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific.

Adj Asst Prof Stephanie Ko, MBBS MMed MPH, is a Consultant in Advanced Internal Medicine at the National University Hospital and at NUHS@Home, the hospital-at-home program in NUHS. She is one of the founders of NUHS@Home in 2020, and is currently the Lead of NUHS@Home as it scales up over the next few years. She is an affiliate at the Behavioral and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI), National University of Singapore. Stephanie’s work has been primarily exploring alternatives to existing healthcare models, and straddles both implementation and the evaluation of the implementation of these care models.

Woan Shin works at the intersection of health economics, applied epidemiology and evaluation science. To improve population health, she strongly believes in the translation of research findings to practice and policy. Her research work adopts a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies to support evidence-based health services development, implementation, and evaluation. She is particularly interested in geriatrics and end-of-life care. Woan Shin is experienced in leading multi-disciplinary research teams, and has collaborated with stakeholders in health services, charitable organisations, and government agencies.

Priyanka Rajendram is a public health physician from Singapore with expertise spanning more than ten years in public health promotion, policy development, content creation and programme design and implementation. Her work includes health promotion, social and behavior change communication (SBCC), entertainment-education(E-E) and community activation initiatives.

Working in local and global settings, Priyanka has addressed issues faced by general populations and vulnerable communities including women and children’s health, sexual and reproductive health, mental health, pandemic response, non-communicable diseases, gender-based violence, child marriage and education. She was the co-founder of Girlsplained, a non-profit community organization based in the UK that used SBCC and E-E to support black and brown girls’ sexual health and rights through social media. She is also the current board chairperson for Beautiful People, a non-profit mentoring organisation for disadvantaged girls and youth. With interests across medicine, public health, coaching, mentoring, sports, storytelling, filmmaking and writing, Priyanka believes in achieving results through creative thinking and experimentation and building solid relationships through collaborative and participatory approaches.

Christine leads Analytics and Health Services Research (HSR) at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) with an adjunct appointment at Academic Informatics Office, National University Health System. She believes that use of analytics and AI can create meaningful impacts to improve patient outcomes. These include the application of risk prediction and AI modelling, quasi-experimental designs and statistical techniques, and cost-effectiveness analysis methodologies to support evidence-based health services development.

Christine has demonstrated transformative leadership in the healthcare landscape. She is experienced in leading multi-disciplinary teams, and working with clinicians and healthcare administrators. Through her strategic vision, she has overseen a diverse portfolio of AI and HSR projects across various departments. Notably, she led the development and implementation of a readmission risk stratification model for frontline usage to intervene on high-risk patients, which was subsequently adopted by the NGEMR team for implementation across two clusters. She also successfully completed the OT optimisation project to identify the biggest value pools through deep analytics and data mining for intervention. These projects have earned the team prestigious national and international accolades, including two National HIP Medals Awards and the HIMSS Davies Award.

Christine has played an instrumental role in shaping the success and impact of the HSR team at NTFGH. She led the team to a remarkable 300% increase in research funding, catapulting from $400k (per annum) in 2022 to an impressive $1.2 million (per annum) in 2023. This growth is a testament to her ability to advance  healthcare through research and innovation and establish a solid foundation for future collaborative ventures.
