Welcome to Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI)

Here at BISI, our international team of researchers aims to improve population health and well-being by accelerating the implementation of evidence in public policy and practice through the use of behavioural and implementation science.

Mission

Here at BISI, our international team of researchers aims to improve population health and well-being by accelerating evidence-based practice through the use of behavioural and implementation science.

What We Do

Our team of research, policy and practice experts works with policy makers, organisational leaders, practitioners and providers to design, implement and evaluate transformative healthcare policies and programmes, in order to deliver and sustain better patient- and system-level outcome.

Strategic Priorities

We aim to establish Singapore-based, global thought, education and research leadership in behavioural, implementation and health system science. BISI complements existing teaching and research at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, bringing a rigorous new focus on the behavioural and implementation factors that influence health and healthcare in Singapore and beyond.

BISI's work focuses on four strategic areas:

01.

Transforming teaching in existing medical school curriculum and continuing medical education for current healthcare professionals and management teams

02.

Conducting research and analysis; including drawing on Singapore's rich data and ethnic diversity, to produce world-leading work

03.

Supporting interventions and implementation to directly improve population health in Singapore and the region

04.

Building networks to share best practice and research in the region and the world

[BISI CET] Introduction to Behavioural Science Methodology

Date: 10 Dec 2025 (Wed)
Time: 9.00am–1.00pm (SGT)
Venue: MD6-01-02 Seminar Room
Fee: $300 + GST (Special Rate)

This half-day course offers practical introduction designed to provide participants with an overview of the core methodological approaches of behavioural science principles. The course will cover the fundamental steps of the behavioural science approach, focusing on how to diagnose a problem, generate testable hypotheses, and construct an effective design. We will discuss the importance of control conditions and randomisation, the foundation for assessing causality in experimental designs. A strong emphasis will be placed on understanding reliability and validity, and common biases that influence both subjects and researchers, as well as the critical importance of measurement and evaluation to determine an intervention's success and generalisability.
