Intervention Scale-Up and Spread

Projects in this research domain focus on expanding effective health interventions to larger populations and different settings. This involves adapting interventions to new contexts, ensuring fidelity to the core components of the original intervention, and evaluating the processes and outcomes of scaling up.

How Do We Scale Up Hospital-at-Home Successfully? A Prospective, Multi-method, Multi-phase Investigation

2023 - Present
Leads: Prof Nick Sevdalis & Dr Stephanie Ko

Hospital-at-home (HaH) programmes are a home-based inpatient substitutive service that expands hospital inpatient bed capacity without building new hospital wards. International and local evidence has shown the feasibility of hospital-at-home programmes to care for patients safely and effectively. At the National University Health system, a pilot programme (NUHS@Home) has successfully concluded and there are plans to now scale bed capacity from 3 beds to 50-100 beds over the next 3 years. This increase in bed capacity will transform the care delivery model and anchor care in the community.

This work is done in collaboration with National University Hospital (NUH).
