Research Theme

Precision Cancer Medicine (PCM) aims to make diagnosis of cancer simpler and more accurate and ultimately improve treatment. The PCM theme aims to focus research that will identify effective biomarkers, develop new treatment modalities for precision and personalized cancer therapy and create enabling technologies for accurate clinical diagnosis and treatment of specific cancer subtypes and individual cancer patients.

Theme Leads

A/Prof CHOW Kai-Hua, Edward

Research focus is on how to quickly and accurately identify effective cancer therapeutic options for individual cancer patients as well as specific sub-groups of cancer patients in both blood cancers and solid tumours.

A/Prof Glenn Kunnath BONNEY

Theme Members - Secondary

Prof CHEN Xiaoyuan, Shawn

Primary research focus is on molecular imaging for precise targeted cancer therapy. He has developed a series of novel translational theranostic agents, some of which have obtained clinical approval and are currently being evaluated in clinical trials.

Prof Chen also researches on the systematic investigation and application of translational nanotherapeutics in cancer immunotherapy. He has developed a series of nanotherapeutic systems for the early diagnosis, precise treatment, and effective monitoring of various malignancies, including prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, and so on.

Dr LIU Boxiang

Research focus is on single-cell and spatial genomics of complex diseases.

Dr Le Thi Nguyet MINH

Research focus is on biology and engineering of extracellular vesicles for therapeutics.

A/Prof Michelle POON

Research focus is on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy.

Dr TOH Tan Boon

Our lab focuses on advancing functional precision and personalised oncology by developing patient-derived models that accurately reflect the molecular andcellular complexity of human cancers. Additionally, our research investigates the clinically relevant mechanisms of drug resistance in these models to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
