"Approach to Treatment of Symptoms from Lumbar Herniated Discs. How Has It Changed Over 30 Years (A Literature Assessment)"

 

Synopsis:


Steven Garfin, MD, is a Distinguished Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Interim Dean of the University of California San Diego School of Medicine who is dedicated to curriculum and faculty development. He is a world renowned orthopaedic spine surgeon and former Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Under his leadership, the department received more than $21 million in annual grant funding and ranked as one of the top institutions for orthopaedic research in USA. He is the past President of numerous prestigious spine societies. These included the North American Spine Society (NASS), the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS) and the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS). He was named one of the top 28 surgeons in the U.S. by Orthopedics This Week.

 

He has edited 21 books, authored more than 145 book chapters and published over 300 peer-reviewed articles.
