“Transitions and Transformations in Spine Surgery”

This presentation examines critical milestones in the development of spinal surgery over the last 20 years. In particular, we will examine those advances in surgical technology, surgical decision making and outcome assessment which have proven transformational, as well as some notable failures. Finally, we will consider how this history informs and impacts potential future advances in spinal surgery.
