President-elect of the British Orthopaedic Association,

Orthopaedic Advisor to the CMO in Scotland,

Editor of Journal of Trauma and Orthopaedics.

He is a past President of the British Hip Society.

 

His specialist interests are joint research in the upper and lower limbs and research into clinical outcomes, the biomechanics of joint replacement.
