Hear From Our Students

"Coming from a non-informatics background, the MSc in Biomedical Informatics provided me with a solid foundation in biomedical data science. Its interdisciplinary curriculum allowed me to engage with projects that aligned with my interests, offering hands-on experience in data analytics and machine learning. The practical skills and communication training deepened my understanding of healthcare systems and AI.

This programme has advanced my career by equipping me with the tools to bridge my background in brain sciences with data science, and to pursue research at the intersection of human and computers." - Evelyn Zhang, MSc in BMI, AY2425

"The MSc in Biomedical Informatics programme has helped to formalise some of my work experience and knowledge into structured courses and allowed me to fill in gaps for areas of healthcare data.

Another key benefit for me has been the networking - the programme was great for meeting people working in healthcare data and getting a sense of which skills are currently in demand." - Eva Baker, MSc in BMI, AY2324

"During my time in the MSc in Biomedical Informatics programme, I chose to specialise in the Analytics track. My decision stemmed from a strong interest in the technical and data-driven aspects of biomedical informatics.

The programme has enabled me to transition into the healthcare data science field where I draw on my clinical and biomedical background to generate meaningful insights from data." - Ng Ruimin, MSc in BMI, AY2223
"The Minor in BMI programme equipped me with essential skills that complement and enhance my medical education. Beyond learning the intricacies of the human body, this course has taught me how to navigate the digital tools and systems increasingly present in modern healthcare.

I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for how technology—when paired with clinical insight—can be harnessed to improve patient outcomes through data-driven, evidence-based approaches. Importantly, the programme has also provided me with the foundational skills to critically assess, adapt, and contribute to the evolution of digital healthcare systems." - Lucien Leong, Minor in BMI, AY2425
