Expanding Southeast Asia’s healthcare innovation network—Singapore’s premier healthtech hackathon addresses Indonesian healthcare challenges

The NUS Medicine Digital Advanced Technology Accelerator (DATA) brought HealthHack to Bali on 15 February 2025, marking the programme’s first healthcare innovation event outside Singapore. The expansion reflects DATA’s commitment to strengthening regional healthcare innovation capacity and addressing diverse healthcare challenges across Southeast Asia’s varied healthcare landscapes.

Collaborative Problem-Solving for Indonesian Healthcare

The one-day hackathon at The Ritz-Carlton, Bali, convened healthcare professionals, technology developers, and entrepreneurs to develop practical solutions for Indonesian healthcare system challenges. Participants received hands-on mentorship from healthcare and technology experts, engaging with real-world problems affecting Indonesia’s diverse population and healthcare infrastructure.

Beyond immediate solution development, the event created networking opportunities between healthcare innovators, investors, and government stakeholders—building the cross-sector relationships essential for scaling healthcare innovation across the region.
