PROMIS item banks exist for many relevant domains of health. There are also short forms for each item bank that cover the entire range of the scale. Computerized Adaptive Tests (CATs) are dynamic, computer-based questionnaires that adapt individually to the level of the person being tested during the assessment. This means that each answer is used to determine the difficulty of the next question, allowing for a precise and reliable assessment of health status with only a few targeted questions.
