Policy Analysis

A core activity of CRiHSP is the provision of health policy analysis to support the effective implementation and impact of important policy developments that will influence the future of health systems, with a particular focus on the ASEAN region.

Policy Briefings
The purpose of CRIHSP policy briefings is to distil the latest trends and evidence on important policy issues for health and care systems, bringing timely and relevant recommendations to the attention of policymakers to support decision-making both in Singapore and internationally.

Our policy briefings are informed through rigorous evidence synthesis and then discussed and debated through a series of policy dialogues with senior decision-makers, international experts, health professionals and end users. They aim to present research and recommendations to a non-specialist audience, making clear recommendations for current and future policy initiatives.

Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs)

Patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) are self-report instruments that reflect a patient’s own views on their health and illness. This policy brief will examine the growth of PROMs implementation strategies globally and summarise the evidence for PROMs in improving health system outcomes at the patient- institutional- and system-levels. Ongoing policy dialogues will examine the key policy issues and questions related to the future implementation and roll-out of PROMs as a means for promoting higher value health systems.

Social Prescribing

Social prescribing is a means to identify people’s non-medical, health related social needs and is an important global initiative to address the social determinants of health. This policy briefing examines how social prescribing shows considerable promise for improving people’s health and wellbeing but argues that more research and international coordination is needed to most appropriately position social prescribing within health systems. With considerable variation in how social prescribing has and can be adopted in policy and practice, the policy briefing sets an agenda for an ongoing policy dialogue.

Evidence Reviews

Through commissioned and self-funded research, researchers at CRiHSP undertake evidence reviews on a range of key health policy topics to develop briefings, resource packs, scoping reviews, rapid reviews and systematic reviews that inform research, policy and practice. Through developing and disseminating knowledge and recommendations to policymakers, service providers, researchers and the wider public, CRiHSP aims to influence and support decision-making that enables improvements in health system performance.

Health Policy Intelligence
CRiHSP’s health policy intelligence function focuses on partnering with regional and national governments, supra-national agencies and global health networks on commissioned activities that provide technical support for evidence-informed solutions that enhance health system performance.

Advancing Health for All and Digital Health Transformation

Partners: NUS Institute of Digital Medicine, World Economic Forum Centre for Health and Healthcare
Duration: 2026 –
Lead Investigator: Dr He Yao
Contributors: Prof Nicholas Goodwin, Ms Rabikah Yahya, Ms Loy En Yun, Prof Jose M Valderas

CRiHSP has partnered with the World Economic Forum Centre for Health and Healthcare to produce a white paper and support implementation of select use cases on Advancing Digital Health Transformation and Health for All in Singapore, Asia and Beyond. The work aims to highlight Singapore’s healthcare system transformation on a global scale, sharing best practices using digital health to support health promotion, prevention, and wellness, advancing opportunities for public-private partnerships, and examining health equity implications of digital health transformation. The initiative aims to complement the work of the WEF’s Health for All initiative to tackle the global NCD crisis by building equitable care pathway solutions for every community.
Health Policy Leadership Programme

CRiHSP’s health policy leadership program is designed to respond to the unique and diverse leadership challenges facing policymakers and senior executives working and leading health care systems. By bringing key decision-makers together from across health and care systems internationally, the Program aims to develop a multi-modular set of activities that blend evidence-based educational courses with learning from hands-on experiences. Facilitated by faculty from CRiHSP and leading international experts, our program will provide insights that enable participants to draft innovative policy solutions that shape health care globally.
