Patient reported outcomes are any aspect of a patient’s self-reported health status. Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) capture patients’ own assessment of their health status, and has been increasingly adopted in health systems around the world.

PROMs can have a positive impact on health system performance at all levels of the health system. However, systematic implementation and use of PROMs face many challenges, and hence a structured and targeted approach to implementing PROMs is essential to the delivery of meaningful results.
