1 [68Ga]PSMA [68Ga]Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen
PSMA is a glycosylated type-II transmembrane protein expressed in prostatic tissue and significantly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells.  It has an established role in the detection and staging of intermediate and high-risk prostate cancer and recurrent disease, and in patient selection for its companion theranostic agent, PSMA-targeted radioligand therapy.

[11C]Acetate PET can be used to measure myocardial oxygen consumption and Acetate is an alternate substrate to glucose for cancer metabolism.  It has been used to visualize different cancers and has found clinical utility in imaging Hepatocellular Carcinoma  (HCC).

[18F]flutafuranol is the next generation PET imaging agent for the visualization of beta-amyloid deposits in the brain for the assessment of early Alzheimer’s Disease.

[18F]MK6240 is a second-generation tau PET tracer that is able to detect neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

[11C]Metomidate PET is used to assess adrenal function and monitor the excessive production of the hormone aldosterone. [11C]MTO PET imaging can be used to evaluate adrenal lesions and lateralise disease in primary hyperaldosteronism pre-surgery.

FEPPA is an inflammation imaging ligand that targets the 18-kDa mitochondrial translocator protein (TSPO) which is upregulated in activated microglia and systemic monocytes.  [18F]FEPPA PET has been used as a marker of neuroinflammation that has been associated with the development of neurodegenerative diseases.

[11C]MSTAT PET is able to visualize enzymatic processes involving Histone deacetylases (HDACs). [11C]MSTAT imaging has potential application in a wide variety of disease including the imaging of cardiac disease and cancer as well as the development of neurodegenerative diseases and neuro-psychiatric disorders.
