| The third and final issue of the NUS Medicine CHS-Connect newsletter for 2026 celebrates the people at the heart of simulation - our dedicated Standardised Patients (SPs), faculty, simulation technologists, partners and learners. From the annual Standardised Patients Appreciation Day and Foundational Workshop to welcoming students and visitors from Japan, Seoul and St Thomas, the period from May to September was marked by meaningful learning and exchange. Our team also represented CHS at the 2nd AsiaSPEC International Conference in Davao City, while the newsletter highlights the inaugural Design for Healthcare and 3D Printing course, Simulation Faculty Development Workshop on working with SPs, and the 11th Singapore Humanitarian Conference. Together, these activities remind us that while technology continues to advance, human connection remains at the heart of simulation. | 2. | NUSMed CHS-Connect Issue #02 May 2026 |
| This issue highlights how the Centre for Healthcare Simulation is advancing healthcare education through innovation, collaboration, and immersive learning across the Asia-Pacific region. The newsletter features CHS’s growing partnership discussions with the Singapore Red Cross on low-cost, technology-enabled training solutions, its interactive showcase at the NUS Open House, and the successful 12th run of its Fundamentals & Debriefing course for healthcare educators. It also spotlights the people behind the simulation work, including medical simulation technologist Johanis Bin Jahidin, whose role bridges clinical realism and technical delivery, and showcases CHS’s expanding international engagement through visits from students and faculty from Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia, and NUS School of Computing. The issue closes with upcoming initiatives, including a Design for Healthcare & 3D Printing course in August 2026 and the 2nd AsiaSPEC conference in Davao City in September 2026, reinforcing CHS’s role as a hub for educational collaboration and innovation. | This is our first issue of the CHS E-newsletter, where we share what we have accomplished together as we look back on 2025. Over the past year, CHS deepened its collaborations with CUTE (Connective Ubiquitous Technology for Embodiments) Centre and with the Division of Industrial Design at the NUS College of Design and Engineering, working to create innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of healthcare. We also expanded our capabilities in 3D printing and co-hosted our first workshop at the S3 Conference with the NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing, demonstrating how emerging technologies can enrich training and education.
