Fellowship in Health Professions Education
The Fellowship in Health Professions Education (FHPE) is a comprehensive program designed to enhance the expertise of health professions educators. Participants are required to complete all online learning modules and attend three 1.5-day workshops and one 2-day face-to-face workshop. The program is structured into four thematic blocks:
Three years.
Open to medical and health professional educators, administrators and leaders in HPE.
One intake per year – January
We understand that cancellations or schedule changes are sometimes inevitable. The following policies are necessary to ensure the continued success of the program.
- All cancellations must be made in writing to CenMED.
- Should you choose to withdraw from this programme after acceptance of offer, it falls upon you - the applicant, to pay the full amount and the prevailing GST.
- No replacement is allowed after the individual participant has been accepted into the programme.
The current FHPE programme provides a strong foundation in health professions education (HPE). However, there is an increasing need to develop advanced domain expertise in key areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Assessment, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), and Simulation-Based Education.
The introduction of specialty tracks will:
- Enable deeper, practice-oriented learning
- Develop institutional leaders in key domains
- Strengthen scholarship and innovation outputs
- Align with CenMED’s strategic priorities in faculty development and regional leadership
The aim is to develop advanced, practice-oriented specialty tracks within FHPE that cultivate domain expertise through mentored, workplace-based application.
Participants may choose one of the following pathways:
- FHPE only, with the option to add specialty track(s) at any point within one year of completing FHPE; or
- FHPE together with specialty track(s), enrolling in both from the outset.
Three years. Additional one-year extension subject to approval.
