Dr K Jayabharathi is a medical doctor, with a rich background in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
She embarked on her medical journey by graduating from Madurai Medical College, India, in 1994. Subsequently, she served as a medical officer in a hospital specializing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Keen to advance her expertise, Dr Jayabharathi successfully cleared the MRCOG Part-1 and pursued speciality training in O&G at the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (IOG) in Chennai, India. Her quest for knowledge led her to Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, where she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DGO). Following her academic and professional endeavours overseas, Dr Jayabharathi returned with a newfound passion for education. She joined the Anatomy Department at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where she has been instrumental in teaching undergraduate students across various disciplines including Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Life Sciences. Her academic interests further extended into Neuroanatomy, culminating in a Master of Science (MSc) in Neuroscience from NUS Medicine in 2020.
Dr Jaya is actively involved in integrating digital technology and innovative teaching methods into anatomy education at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She led the development of the NUS-HALO e-Museum project, which involved the digitalisation of histology slides and the creation of structured e-histology learning resources that are now available for student learning.
