The Nucleic Acid Therapeutics (NAT) programme is an interdisciplinary program headed by Professor Kevin White aimed at accelerating the development and commercialization of nucleic acid therapeutics in Singapore. The NAT program involves participants from A*STAR, Singapore Universities and the private sector and is coordinated out of A*STAR and the Genome Institute of Singapore. Active projects include the development of RNA vaccines and therapeutics, CRISPR therapeutics, and ASO/SSO oligonucleotide-based therapies. As part of NAT program efforts, it is working to not only help investigators accelerate their development programs but also to provide guidance on how development programs might be adapted to meet market needs and improve the likelihood of securing private sector investment through venture capital, licensing or RCAs.
The noncoding RNA (ncRNA) Core located at the Dept. of Biochemistry is headed by Dr. Jit Kong Cheong, seeks to support investigators in interrogating intracellular and/or circulatory ncRNA profiles/functions in diverse experimental and clinical specimens.
