Congratulations to our NUSMED Infectious Diseases TRP members, Professor Hsu Li Yang, Professor David Paterson, Associate Professor Gan Yunn Hwen, Associate Professor Niranjan Nagarajan, and Dr. Mo Yin for receiving the Open Fund – Large Collaborative Grant (OF-LCG) from the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) for a five-year period. They will collaborate with PIs from the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU), and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), with Professor Hsu Li Yang serving as the corresponding principal investigator.
Their joint efforts fall under the AntiMicrobial Resistance Research & Intervention Alliance Singapore (AMRITAS) Programme, which is divided into two themes:
- Theme 1: “Reimagining Clinical Trials for Drug-Resistant Infections” led by Professor Hsu Li Yang, Professor David Paterson, and Dr. Mo Yin, with Professor Hsu Li Yang as the Main Theme PI.
- Theme 2: “Understanding gut colonization by carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacteria to prevent AMR transmission and infections” with Associate Professor Gan Yunn Hwen and collaborators from NTU & TTSH, and Associate Professor Niranjan Nagarajan as the Main Theme PI.
