We are proud to announce that Asst Prof Catherine Ong, from the NUSMed Infectious Diseases TRP, has been elected to the ESCMID – European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Study Group for Mycobacterial Infections (ESGMYC)’s Executive Committee for the term 2022-2024. She serves as the secretary, alongside 4 other eminent international experts, on the committee. We are thrilled that this prestigious international society has recognised the important work Dr Ong is doing in the field of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. ESGMYC’s objective is to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infection due to mycobacteria, including tuberculosis, leprosy and infections due to non-tuberculous mycobacteria.
