Professor Tambyah as New President of ISID’s Executive Committee

Our Deputy Director Professor Paul Tambyah has been appointed as the New President of the International Society of Infectious Diseases (ISID). The society shared that Prof. Tambyah brings a unique perspective to the leadership of ISID, replacing Prof. Alison Holmes who will now serve as ISID’s immediate past-President.  ISID’s CEO, Linda MacKinnon says, “We are so thrilled to have Paul step in as the leader of the ISID Executive Committee and to continue to expand the reach of ISID’s many key Infectious Disease (ID) Programs with his tireless vision for global healthcare equity.”

“The last three years have demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that infectious diseases are truly international. The International society for Infectious Diseases has a long history of education and research in particular in low and middle income countries. There are many opportunities for clinicians and scientists from Singapore and the region to get more involved in the global enterprise of preventing and controlling infectious diseases around the world. I am very happy for the opportunity to be a part of this effort,” said Prof. Tambyah.
